I'm looking for large boxsets, dvds, and cds that are more than an average cd that would be good for christmas? I'm looking for anything Black Metal, Death Metal, Power Metal and well every type. Most of the bands that have released boxsets and such would more on the mainstream side so I'll more than likely know them. Thanks.

One DVD you may be interested in is "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey"
You may have seen it before, it is based around most bands like Twisted Sister, and the 80's bands, and it has some newer metal in it as well.
Or maybe you would like to watch "True Norwegian Black Metal" I don't know if it is on DVD but you can watch it on youtube.

Large boxsets? How about Iced Earth's Slave to the Dark. It's expensive as balls, but it's fucking huge.

Check out that Candlelight grab bag if you like some of their artists.

That is more like a lump of coal in one's stocking. Just with really fucking cool art.

Summoning's Sounds of Middle Earth boxset looks cool (especially with the pic LPs) but the only place it is available from is a label in Spain, so I'm sure it would be expensive as hell. (Like 75 euros I think it is, plus shipping)

You could get Unleashed's Immortal Glory. I think it's being released tomorrow.

Actually that's been out for a while now, and it's one of the first things I thought of. The 'Black Box' by Black Sabbath is a sight to behold, and one of my treasured possessions. At present I'm really looking forward to getting Fight's 'Into the Pit' set and Sabbath's 'The Rules of Hell'.

I suppose the Nargaroth package is out of the question...

But, I mean, it comes with a cum stain!

I second the Black Sabbath "Black Box", worth every cent I paid for it. The other box set I have had my eye on for awhile is the Bathory "In Memory of Quorthon" set. Maybe someday I will break down and purchase it...

I recommend checking out comatosemusic (mostly death metal) for their holiday sale special:

Pretty good if you ask me.

It hasn't been officially released by Century Media in the US yet, and I don't know if it will get released here anytime soon. I really want it though, since I fail to own any Unleashed.

Earache sells package deals, things like 2 cds and a band t-shirt in one package.

I didn't know about that until now. I don't own any Unleashed either so I ordered the box just now. It was a great deal.

I really want the new darkthrone box set of their early demos, the frostland tapes. That might be an idea.

I'm looking for pretty much the same thing... I need to give gift suggestions to my family for a gift exchange (less trouble than buying gifts for everyone). Looking for something around 50$

How about Megadeth's Warchest. It's only about $40 on Amazon.

It appeals to me because I'm a completist. I bought Hammer Battalion, so if I just get Midvinterblot and Immortal Glory I'll have their complete discography.

Oh, and the point I meant to make here is that I've seen it for sale online (ebay and elsewhere) for quite some time now. It's not like it's the sort of thing many music stores would stock anyway, so why wait for an 'official' US release?
