I am wondering what the band's status is right now.

Are they active? Recording? Playing live? I know MA says active, but various people have said that they've broken up recently.

Frozen. Members have their own projects and Jeff I believe is too busy with other things.. maybe someday....

I'll ask Sodomizer about it but I am sure it'll be the same ol' story.

By Sodomizer, do you mean "The Traditional Sodomizer Of The Goddess Of Perversity"? Do you know him personally?

Is Black Winds in any other projects?

I don't know what Black Winds is doing nowadays :) I'll ask!

I don't think they'd be able to get into the US even if they are still active... didn't their singer beat somebody up on a plane or something?

Probably, hell, they were banned from playing in Canada for some time.

Too many fights at their shows. They were let off after a few years and allowed to play again though.

I think you are forgetting the part about causing riots, causing trouble on an airplane, and of course all the violence that goes on at their shows(suicide and cutting, fighting etc).

I remember they gave Samoth from Emperor a tough time to get a US visa, imagine when they read Blasphemy's past....

I wish they'd rerelease their material on vinyl again. I simply don't have enough money to buy their records. I'm lucky I got the two CDs before they sold out.

The recent re-release of Gods of War/Blood Upon the Altar is still easily available. Northern Heritage has it.

Hmm. I look on eBay. But every single auction of Fallen Angel of Doom exceeds 50 dollars.

What? I got Fallen Angel Of Doom, Gods Of War/Blood, and the first Beherit album all brand new at a show a few months ago for $40 total and I thought that was really expensive. FAoD is the Nuclear War Now edition; is it really that uncommon these days and I lucked out majorly?

VINYL. I'm talking about vinyl. The NWN edition of FAoD is expensive, especially the Die Hard version.

If the actual band put 1/4 of the effort that message boards did creating hype for them, they would be HUGE and would have put out more than 70 minutes of studio material. I was a Blasphemy weenie (owing lp's, shirts......fuck I even had to 'pose' in front of the Ross bay angel when in Victoria) up until about 3 years ago. Sure they get respect for being one of the first Black/Death bands out of Canada, but I just don't get all hopeless people out there waiting for yet another 'Reunion'. They make more now selling hoodies than they EVER did when they were active. I'd rather see a RAZOR reunion with the original band members, fuck even EXCITER holds more merit. If Anvil can still play live, WHY can't Blasphemy ????

Well, I don't think this is any reason to not like them. The only reason I like them is because they made two of my favorite black metal albums of all time.
