Some time ago I had seen a random pic of Phil Anselmo wearing a shirt that said "Christ Inversion" on it, and checked the archives to see what that was about. After seeing the gay pic of whoever the hell that is on their profile page, and the lack of reviews of any material, I figured it was either a joke band or not worth ever listening to. Recently I was at FYE and I saw that they had a self-titled CD still in circulation, so I decided to try it out.

The packaging was kinda cool, definitely made it seem a bit more "kvlt" than they could possibly be, though there's some slightly cliche song titles and lyrics, however nothing too juvenile or asinine. I assumed upon hearing the vocals that Phil Anselmo was at the helm, however it says he's guitar and backing vocals...either way the guy doing vocals sounds a lot like Phil, and there's a weird sort of static effect on the vocals that I would've liked better, had the vocal delivery been a bit more varied. The music itself is basically death metal territory, couldn't say it's great or terrible. I do enjoy a little of all (or most I should say) of Phil's projects, and this one was definitely a lot darker and thus more appealing than some of the other shit he's involved in.

I have recently stumbled upon that c-d as well. I love it. I can only listen to it every so often because im not big on the lyrics. I couldnt really say a bad thing about. ..I was actually listening to on of the songs where hes yelling 'Hail Satan' over and over again. My mother heard it and told me how much she despised the fact that I was listening to it.

Yeah, Wayne Fabra of Necrophagia is on vocals.

I like the band, personally. It's tons better than Viking Crown, another black metal band that Phil was involved in.
