I know most people on here despise -core bands. Because of the trendy immaturity of them. It all sounds the same. I used to love deathcore, metalcore, hardcore, and anything inbetween.

THEN! A few bands started to fade away from it.

Now, the new trend, is to not be trendy. And 'mature'.

Back to it all sounding the same again.

Jeeze, thank goodness for this site. I need new music. Haha.

Who agrees?

Glad to see you care so much about all of the trends.

Are you referring to bands like, say, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, and Atreyu who claim to realize one day that metalcore is an overloaded scene and they must "mature" (commercialize) in order to survive?

The last good album released by ANY of those bands is like bare minimum two decades back. This is a loud version of Antiques Roadshow.

Nah, more undergroundish bands, developing a Meshuggah infulence to them

The biggest is Bring Me the Horizon, were horrible before, then so called 'matured'.

They're still horrible though. Those are some of the most god awful lyrics I've ever had the displeasure of reading, along with more easily forgettable breakdowns and horrid vocals. I was going to type something else, but that's how bad this is - there aren't even enough aspects to poke fun at.

No idea, but you could have said in in the OP, rather than in three.

Core bands that released albums in the past few years that don't suck?

All Shall Perish. Despised Icon. Between the Buried and Me.

Bands that have an original sound (or a sound that may be heard a lot, but they were one of the first to do it) are the ones that are good.

I don't hear a Meshuggah influence in many bands. I do hear Meshuggah rip-offs that can't play a Meshuggah song for shit. Then there are Meshuggah rip offs that sound good... or rather there is only one band that sounds good ripping off Meshuggah (aside from Special Defects, but they are allowed to), and that is A Life Once Lost.

Who gives a shit, they are called trends for a reason. They come, They Go, They suck and I dont care. If the music is good then it will stick around.

I think thrash metal is becoming very trendy in CA. I can't speak for everyone, though.

You haven't heard the band Vortice (Esp) yet, I guess. :)
