Accept - London Leatherboys

Almost a perfect album, this Balls to the Wall. Maybe one of two songs, which are good, but not as important as the rest. Just minor flaws.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow

Probably a bit too languishing for regular listens but it's a gorgeous album. Nice and mellow for a Sunday morning.

Amorphis- The Beginning of Time

Sort of an overlooked Tomi era album. It's got some nice cuts, Song of the Sage/Crack in Stone are very good songs. But it's kind of forgettable. I'd say Circle is a little bit more concise even though I'm not too much of a fan of that album. You I Need is a god awful song though.
Funny how those were stepping stones to the best Amorphis releases back to back. I still have trouble deciding if the last two albums and Skyforger are number one.

Sommo Inquisitore - Anno Mille

I bought it so fuck it, I'll play the entire Youtube album stream any time. Endlessly entertaining galloping riffs and crazy ass vocals. It's ear-catching stuff, it sticks out. Very important.

Cemetery Urn - Urn of Blood

Word on the street is another album's currently being made. Can't wait

Tau Cross - Messengers of Deception

Rob Miller, like him or not, writes and performs great music and the new album is no exception.

Bikini Kill - Reject All American

Badass, no nonsense punk. I have to check out their older albums too.

Ex Libris - Dawn of Sugars

Good gothic-symphonic stuff, and Dianne van Giersbergen is an excellent singer in full operatic mode. Half-glad she got out of Xandria, at least she can do her own thing.

Slayer - Die by the Sword

Man when Slayer was good, they were really fucking good and essentially defined what thrash oughta be like. Love this album's more melodic riffs - but still so fucking lethal.

Destruction - Incriminated

Bruh, this song is really over the top in terms of just outright menacing atmosphere, that chorus is just fucking MEAN, this album in particular is just so fucking disturbing

HIM - For You (Intro)

Their debut is basically gothic metal.
They did turn into more of a poppy goth rock band later (and were good at that too imo), but... yeah.

I quite like Xandria's music, but they have a terrible track record with their vocalists. Dianne, Manuela and Lisa all said they weren't treated very well. Ex Libris is cool too - they're a lot more progressive than Xandria, of course.

Tiamat - Love Terrorists

"On a 42 inch plasma screen I watch the tears of Jesus
Crying out all gods are dead and hacked into little pieces"

I'm surprised that The Scarred People fell out of radar for most of the people. The guitar work on the album is phenomenal!

Show No Mercy is probably my third favorite Slayer album behind Hell Awaits and South of Heaven. The fusion of NWOBHM, first wave black metal and hardcore punk makes this record stand out amongst their catalog. I definitely think Slayer had the best debut album out of the Big 4.

I ought to try Hell Awaits again; that one never used to click with me. Either RIB or SNM is my favorite, though South of Heaven is close - that title track is iconoclastic as fuck.

Omination - Unto the Ages of Ages

Funeral doom from Tunisia. Acerbic as all hell. One of my favorite releases this year so far.

Laaz Rockit - Chain of Fools

Ought to check their other albums. This dude's fucking vocals and the meaty, aggressive guitars are a feast. Definitely some of the better traditional styled thrash I know.

Just checking in to say South of Heaven is absolutely brilliant, by far Slayers best, and one of the greatest albums ever made, I'd put it up against any Beatles or Stones record

Cradle of Filth - Cruelty and the Beast: Re - Mistressed

Just picked this bad boy up, listening now I already like it better than the original, they did a great job with the remix, makes it sound so alive, though I'll always like the original a lot for that muffled sound, but this is clearly superior.

That Cruelty and the Beast remix might be the only time I enthusiastically re-bought an album. My main complaint was always the drum sound and they improved it so much.

Cannibal Corpse - Monolith

Good way to close Vile.

Enforcer - From Beyond

Was looking to buy this and their other releases on LP but goddamn are they expensive!

Fen - A Witness to the Passing of Aeons

This is truly some magnificent atmospheric Black Metal right here. Amazing album all around!

Earth 2: Special low frequency version

Idk, something about blaring this in my ears is really just clearing my head, it's very sobering that's for sure

The Sisters of Mercy - Temple of Love

Extremely catchy.
Also, I love Ofra Haza's voice on this one.

Sacred Steel - Slaughter Prophecy

BADASS! A healthy crushing mix of power and doom.

Oh that song is godly! And not their only one.

Accept - Living for Tonite

One of the coolest numbers on Metal Heart.

Paradise Lost - Fall From Grace

One of the songs off of Obsidian that has actually stuck in my head. Decent mid-paced number with some nice guitar work on it.

Slayer - Silent Scream

Can't argue with the people who were praising this one. It's maybe the most solid example of their overall sound. RIB was more of a definitive work of art but this one just sounds like it has everything you need from their general style. Thing's got some massive grooves and stomps and the band sounds first rate. Title song is easily the best one but it's a fun listen.

Bruce Dickinson - Soul Intruders

Overall an average song, but that ending is perfect. The thundering double-bass drums and riffs with Dickinson going "Who sits on my throooooooooooooneee".

I loved it from the first listen. The album as a whole is a grower, at first I wasn't sure what to think, but after like three-four listens I couldn't stop listening anymore.

Speaking of which...

Paradise Lost - The Plague Within

The only of '10s Paradise Lost albums I had a slight problem with, but I think it's really growing on me. The main issue is the production doesn't really know what it wants to be, but there's some great material on it.

The best song on Obsidian is "Ravenghast". A modern death/doom classic alongside "Beneath Broken Earth".

Steven Wilson - Pariah

Ninet Tayab is the Anneke Van Giersbergen of progressive rock, where you could just put her voice on every song ever and it'd never get tiring or old. She's magnificent.

Haven't listened to anything in like 5 days - I probably should fix that. I can't remember the last time I've listened to this particular album, honestly.

Weezer - Blue Album

This album is always a fun listen. Classic alternative rock/power pop/early emo/whatever you'd call it
