Witch Cross - Fit for Fight (CLASSIC!)
Alice Cooper - Trash (Great!)

A great list!!

Nugent's albums through the early 80s are all awesome.

Thanks! :-D

Mercyful Fate - Dead Again

The first minutes are good. Then it starts to go all fucking wrong. But it returns towards the end.

Whitesnake - Restless Heart (2021 Remix)

Underrated Coverdale solo album brought in line with the more metallic sound of the main band. It works, it aims for a different vibe. The original may be more organic but the remix doesn't ruin the bluesy material. Good job. Do you need it if you're happy with the original? Not really.

Son House - Yonder Comes My Mother

Dude was a seriously beautiful guitar player. Brilliant and evocative. Real soul.

Yeah, its like a different band that lost a huge part of what I loved about Van Halen, the attitude and swagger. Sure EVH was still shredding but they just lost so much.

NP - Screaming Trees - Bed of Roses

A Seattle band that should have been bigger but they couldn't get out of their own way. Love the guitar playing and the singer has that whiskey and cigarettes' rasp to his vocals that fits so well.

Where the hell did this come from?!?! This is easily his best album, IMO. Tight, memorable songwriting; no filler; no reliance on the silly overdone pinch harmonics.
Shockingly, this will likely be a year-end top 10 for me.

It's a surprisingly decent BLS album. Not better than Hangover Music though.

NP: Silver Talon - "Touch the Void"

Highly likely a top 5 of the year for me at this point. Love the mixture of Warrelisms and Layneisms.

Necromantia - Pretender to the Throne

A majestic slab of Greek black metal...great punishing riffs.

Death - Symbolic

While I quite like this album, I've always found its extreme praise to be somewhat unwarranted. Give me their first four instead.

Iron Maiden - Prowler (from The Soundhouse Tapes demo)

I prefer this one over original version! It feels so much organic and natural, and Di'Anno's voice are simply charming in it's own unique way Just loving how unpolished this demo sounds...The beast under construction!

Man, am I infecting others with the bug now?

Running Wild - Blazon Stone

This one I'd never actually heard before recently, just straight killing all the way through. This band has been a sweet adrenaline blast to help get work done.

"Damien" - Iced Earth

Say what you will about Jon's politics, but he did help create four greatm essential-ass Metal records back in the day, and nothing will ever change that fact for me.

Ditto; I mean, it is very good, but I've still always found it to be a step or two down from ITP or Sound Of Perseverance (with the title track being the only truly great tune on it), and I don't get why it's constantly hovering on or around the number one spot on MetalStorm's all-time two hundred list, you know?

Dismember - S/T

Really went out with a bang on this one - a top three Dismember album. Europa Burns is an absolute banger.

Therion - The Blood of Kingu

Sometimes, it's difficult for me to pick between "Sirius B" and "Lemuria" as far the two 2004 Therion albums are concerned. I love them both.
Lately I've been digging "Sirius B" quite a bit, though.

Just started Raflum - Melodies of forest and springs

Dark folk, as far as I can tell. Just made a thread down in rec central so I can find more of that stuff.

Well, if everyone's liking this album, I suppose I should probably give it a listen. How exactly can I do that? I can't seem to find the album anywhere.

Yup, they ain't on Spotify either. Also couldn't find the album on Youtube or Bandcamp. So none of my listening platforms have it.

Motörhead - Louder than Noise... Live in Berlin (2012)

Good, compact setlist from the "The Wörld is Yours" era. Maybe an hour and a bit is the ideal length for a Motörhead live album. It's pretty raw and doesn't hide a couple of (minor) mistakes. 8/10

Celtic Frost - The Name of My Bride

I haven't heard Cold Lake in its entirety but Vanity/Nemesis isn't too far off from the riffy, mid-tempo approach of Into the Pandemonium. It's a decent album but I guess the band got mired by the backlash over Cold Lake that even this couldn't salvage their career at that point.

Motörhead - Nö Sleep at All (1988)

Unlike most folks I love the "Rock 'n' Roll" album, but the live album from that tour sounds a bit fuzzy and doesn't flow very well. 6.5/10

Accept - Too Mean to Die
Solid, if not spectacular, addition to their impressive catalog.

They seem to have settled into the same mode as Saxon: new material that's always above average but not game-changing (which is fine by me!).

Running Wild - Renegade

Don't know if Death or Glory is my favorite by them but there are quite a lot of very formidable tunes here. Lots of character.

Battle Beast - Eye of the Storm

I think their next album might be good going by these singles, which is kind of interesting since I found "No More Hollywood Endings" to be a fucking disaster.
In any case, fun song.

Saw this band open for Exmortus and liked them a bit better. I believe they also share members with Unto Others, which is cool.

Labyrinth - One More Last Chance

Holds up. Dense PM that doesn't dumb anything down. Rob Tiranti is a gem - a unique emotive style. With Falconer done and Kamelot phoning it in, these guys are delivering the goods.

Ensiferum - "Windrider"

This song never seems to get mentioned when discussing Ensiferum, but it's an anthem. Not only for this band, but for folk metal as a whole. Super catchy stuff.

Another good one but I can't help but think that some of the songs sound unfinished.

Motörhead - The Wörld is Yours

Less metal, more rock 'n' roll, not many classic tracks, but it works as an album. Very likable.
