Listening to various albums I haven't played for years. Some of the stuff will go to the trade thread after that.

N.p. Edge Of Sanity - Nothing but death remains

Damn, it is waaay better than I thought it would be...definitely a keeper!! Really like those catchy Swedish old school riffs!

Tom Waits - Wrong Side of the Road, off Blue Valentine

Chillin' out with Tom's music here. Blue Valentine might be my favorite album of his, now that I think about it. It just has everything I like about the man's music, not to mention my favorite song by him (Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis).

UnSun - Whispers

What can I say? I've a soft spot for gothic-y pop metal.

We all know what is it that you like in Unsun... :nods: Don't take it wrong though, just kidding.

Process Of Guilt - Erosion

Well, it hasn't been an easy day. I've been hit and spanked all day by Darkspace, The Angelic Process and (old) Neurosis. It's time to put something more airy but still dark and minimalistic enough. It's too bad that these guys don't get the rep they deserve. They're very nice and hard working people who happen to be fantastic musicians and that release monolithic albums from time to time. The whole crossover between modern doom and atmospheric sludge with Neurosis influences on this album is pretty much unique. They have gotten better with time and every "post-metal"/atmospheric sludge/Neurosis fan should definitely check out their latest.

More people should give them the respect they deserve! :headbang:

A Sound of Thunder - Out of the Darkness

This is weird, but not bad. Pretty solid riffing and soloing and some really quirky, offbeat female vocals...rather odd take on retro heavy metal but it could grow on me. Thanks Xlxlx!

So glad you liked it! :-D I just discovered that record, and from what I heard so far, it's a pretty cool slab of modern heavy/power metal. I'll keep listening to it later to form a more solid opinion regarding it, though so far, I love it.

Trail of Murder - Carnivore, off Shades of Art

You scratch my back, and I scratch yours :-P

Diagnose: Lebensgefahr - transformalin

Post silencer progect, for those of you who ought to know. Industrial by the sounds of it. I really really like this. It's just as freaky and depressive as silencer.

Enslaved - The Crossing

Below the Lights still stands out a lot in my mind - the first Enslaved album I listened to, and still one of my favorites. It's atmosphere is truly sincere and different.

Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts I-IV

Ah, the nostalgia. This album is actually pretty boring lol, but there are some great songs on it.

Dragged Into Sunlight - Part II (from Widowmaker)

I'm digging this album a lot. It has a vibe that really just hits the spot for me.

Threshold - Return of the Thought Police

One of the best albums of the year. A prog metal masterwork with great vocals and propulsive, exciting songs.

Yep, this record is definitely great. Great, great, great! Goddamnit, is there anything actually bad with Breed's vocals on it?
