^Overmotets pris makes the entire debut superfluous in my view. It takes every awesome riff variation from that album and puts it into one song.

Paysage d'Hiver - Eishalle

Dreamy and wintry ambient music. The album cover art matches this song's atmosphere perfectly.

Andre Matos, _Time to Be Free_

Still think the rest of the album pales in comparison to "Letting Go," which, however, crushes.

Nightfell - (As Now) We Must Succumb

Blackened riff mastery right here - at times it sounds like a more melodic and accesible The Ruins of Beverast or something.

I'm listening to the new Blood Red Throne. I'm only a couple songs in, but man I find the gutturals to be so weak. Bolt is way better at doing the screaming parts. I miss Mr. Hustler in this band (regardless of how obnoxious that name is)

Scorpions - Make It Real

They were super tight songwriters. Very slick and pop-sensible but great.

Iced Earth - When the Night Falls

This is actually pretty decent - Schaffer lets out some sharp effective riffs here and I somewhat enjoy the weirdo vocals as well.

^ Oh I'd been meaning to go back to them a little...

Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings

What a different band this would've been if they'd kept on this kind of material.

Helloween's Walls of Jericho plus the Helloween EP first five songs. It was my favorite album when I was like 19 and still is one of my favorites. Despite its crudeness, I find it is indeed better than anything else Helloween or any speed/power metal band ever did afterward. The riffs and solos are just so memorable and the atmosphere is of this album always takes me to another world.

They were REALLY good at some of our last Hellfests but they don't do it for me on CD.

Pints for you too!

Ross the Boss - By Blood Sworn

Gets better every spin. This is not just a band trying to copy Manowar's sound. The first song is total Manowar though.

Reinkaos - Dissection

To me, this sounds like a classic heavy metal album instead of melodic BM or melodeath. A really excellent one at that. Of course, fans were upset since its so different from their previous material.

Nokturnal Mortum - Night of the Gods

Re-visiting their album from last year. I still think it is very inferiour to Voice of Steel, but it definitely benefits from repeated listens and some time to allow full comprehension. There are many layers to the music.

Scorpions - Virgin Killer

Had to buy the CD as an import because none of the streaming services carried this, likely due to that dumb cover the original had. Shame as this is fucking cool. Uninhibited, free-form rock and roll genius. Full of bravado and power.

Saint Vitus - Live

This is the first live album by the American doom metal band Saint Vitus recorded in 1989 in Germany.
There is a short note written by Dave Chandler inside the CD case about how this live was recorded.
One of the best Saint Vitus albums in my opinion, awesome.

I have no idea what ''Licking my cosmic weakness'' is suppose to mean, but otherwise this is a great track. Like a mix between Finndeath and The Red in the Sky is Ours era At The Gates or something.

Bathory - Nordland I

I cried while listening to this.

Serpent Column - Ornuthi Thalassa

An interesting album of progressive extreme metal. Feels a bit arid though (as with a lot of progressive metal).

Therion - "Hail Caesar!" from _Beloved Antichrist_

Unusually, playing my entire Amazon Music "added" tracks on random to see what sticks out. This one has a nice opening riff but otherwise bogs down - like the album as a whole, unfortunately.

Daylight Dies - I Wait

It really sucks that this band has just kind of disappeared for so many years since their last album. Thankfully, their Facebook says that they're finally gonna become active again in December, which is all for the better. There are almost no bands in the United States making this kind of death-doom right now, and for a long time Daylight Dies were the only band really doing it in this country at all aside from like Novembers Doom.

Now hopefully a new album is coming along with the renewed live shows.
