Morbid Angel - Too Extreme!

Okay, so hear me out. I decided to revisit the entire Morbid Angel studio LP discography in full, in order. Up until today, I'd never heard ANY of this album. It's just as horrific as everyone has said, but I am making a pledge to complete it in one sitting.

You'd better be careful, man. That album is just...too extreme.

That song might be the worst on the album for me, it's so relentlessly and aggressively terrible. It makes trying to listen to the whole thing almost impossible.

Bruce Dickinson - Born in '58

I have to listen to something (anything) to wash away the memories of "Radikult."

Blind Idiot God - Subterranean Flight

Dissoblack from 1987 with noise rock influences. Noice. BIG's debut is a timeless masterpiece, and was released waaay before its time (7 years before Written in Waters). The dub part of it is really solid as well

Went digging around for a sports bra this morning and found my missing Ark (a box of albums I've been unable to find for some time). Got my morning lined up. Walking can wait.

Spoiler: show

I've made myself a deal today to listen to AT LEAST one metal album from the past that i've never heard a day. I don't know how long this is going to last. Some albums will be from bands I've never heard of, some will be from artists I've liked or at least checked out in the past.

Right now, I'm listening to Malmsteen's Trilogy record. I've heard many of his albums, and I've heard the first track from this, but never the whole thing. I'm on "Fury" right now,

Enmity - Illuminations of Vile Engorgement

Hated it at first, but i'm kinda growing to like it. To me it doesn't seem like the most brutal metal album ever though, I guess my definition of brutality is different than Enmity's one. The album would appeal to me a lot more if it were produced in a more general brutal death metal fashion. Some people however seem to argue that better production would make Enmity too accessible, which I wouldn't even mind. I'd love to hear Enmity being played in a shopping mall.

Vision Divine - The 25th Hour

Last one of this trilogy of albums I wanted to get. There's such a vibrancy and power to this stuff and they know how to go soulful as well as fast and heavy.

Diocletian - Oath To Ruin

I've never listened to these guys, and I've never dabbled into "War Metal" much.

Yellow Machinegun - Spot Remover

Saw them mentioned in another thread and decided to check them out. Really good stuff. Would this be considered Japanese Pussy Metal?

Excoriation - Excoriation

Saw this band being mentioned in an old thread, I think the sound is best described by combining the terms brutal-death-metal/goregrind/slambient (A comparison to Enmity is not out of place either). It's a very good album in my opinion.

Galneryus- Braving Flag(with Ono on vocals)

Man, it doesn't work. It just doesn't work. My favorite Galneryus song and it's just meh. I love the Ono stuff don't get me wrong, but the Braving Flag is not a song that he should sing. He's too low in the pitch and has no aggression. At least the solo is still incredible.

Basarabian Hills - Enveloped In The Velvet Cloak Of Midnight

This track is more dark ambient than anything else, but it does have drums and faint guitars. Super immersive and atmospheric, if you're into that kind of metal.

Erythrite Throne - Spider Veins

I held off on hearing this project due to how much music they put out CONSTANTLY. But I finally just picked one at random and I'm enjoying it. Plus they're from Ontario!

Atheist - Best Of (compilation from 2017)

Man, I always stayed away from early 90's tech/proggy death metal bands cos I had a hard time grasping with this kind of music. It always seemed too complicated and boring for me at least. But this compilation prove me wrong. Atheist really kicks some serious ass!

Satan - Cruel Magic (Great, but not as great as LIFE SENTENCE, and maybe not as heavy. It's growing on me, though. I still need to get ATOM BY ATOM).
White Stripes - Icky Thump
Budgie - Bandolier
Venom - Temples of Ice (Good! And under-rated- but most outside of their first 2 are! Well, probably not the more recent ones).
Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery & Imagination

Nagelfar - Der Existenz jenseits der Tore (Kapitel 2)

Honestly one of the best black metal songs I have ever heard. It's this sort of technical and creative black metal I wish bands like Enslaved and Arcturus did better. It's not only technical and intricate, but it's playful and fearless at the same time.

Slagmaur - Will Sher Svain

Seems like a fairly middling final song for the demo, then 45 seconds of silence, but then comes an experimental bit that I really like.
