Timeghoul - The Siege

What a great spacey, ethereal take on death metal.

Ratt - Round and Round

This song has one badass main riff. They were one of the better 80's hair bands, before Poison and all the other bands looking to cash in on the success of the style came along and watered it down to the point of no return.

Nothing like a little excessive prog metal to start the day.

just been listening to Train Of Thought myself. Finished Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, half good and half sad, I have to say. "Endless Sacrifice" is wonderful by the way!

Dream Theater - Honor Thy Father
now that is a crusher! :np:

Lovechild - Prisoner, from Soul Collector

I'm enjoying this album way more than I thought I would. Sometimes it pays off going into a first listen with terribly low expectations.

Metallica - Ride the Lightning

A great song and I think it features James Hetfield at his best. I loved these screams he could unleash back when he was young.

Ugh. My condolences.

Denial Fiend - Horror Holocaust

Follows the same path musically and lyrically as the debut They Rise, and goes for the jugular with shorter, quicker songs, but Kam Lee's absence is too detrimental to the vibe they established with that record. Blaine Cook's a great vocalist in his own right but not for this kind of material in spite having a certain punk vibe to it, and being one of the more interesting aspects of The Accused makes it seem like he wandered into the wrong recording studio that day. Still, it's a minor who's-who of the Florida death scene and I'm a sucker for this style, so this will stay in my collection for now.

I listened to Mourning Beloveth (Sullen Sulcus) a while back, just couldn't get into them. I'm thinking of giving them another try soon.

I think Dust might be easier to get into. It's more straightforward. I love that band.
