"The Piper Never Dies" and "Under the Moon" still totally fucking kill despite me having listened to em for like 15 years now.

Among my favorite new Dungeon Synth bands, so relaxing and epic.

AFI - Fall Children

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if this band just all of a sudden dropped a hardcore/punk album again.

Nargaroth - A Whisper Underneath the Bark of Old Trees

When I heard Black Metal ist Krieg, I discarded Nargaroth as a poseur and a ripoff artist. This song changed my view of him.

Edit: It is actually written by Trähn from Nychts. That explains a lot. :)
Still, perhaps I should check out more Nargaroth albums.

Nothgard-Malady X

GOOOOD THIS IS SO BORING. WHY DO BANDS THROW AWAY THE ONE THING THEY'RE GOOD AT FOR CHAAAANGE. NOT ALL CHANGE IS GOOD.
The folk elements from the first album is completely gone and now they're just a boring melo death band with some EpIc KeYbOaRdS.

Cénotaphe - Au sépuclre des astres

Damn. This is fucking great. Completely non-wimpy melodic BM, with aggression and atmosphere. Gonna have to buy this. Shout out to forestcorpse whose recent purchase inspired me to check it out  :metal:

One of my favorite concert experiences was witnessing Lush playing "Desire Lines" in '96. They built up such an immense wall of sound during the instrumental break...totally mind-melting. An incredible highlight to a great gig. Sadly, it was only a few months later when the drummer killed himself.

Dark Angel - Darkness Descends

Well, it's Darkness Descends. Everyone by now have already heard it. All I can mention is "This city is guilty, the crime is life, the sentence is death, darkness descends".

Torche - From Here

Checking out their new record again. I heard it twice the week it came out, but nothing really stuck. Usually like their stuff, so I'm hoping a fresh spin will get me into it.

Roy Budd - Getting Nowhere in a Hurry

Beautiful psychedelic pop. One of the best movie soundtracks I've heard.

Bathory - Requiem.

Still not a great album, but a bit better than I remembered initially. The thing I think I love most about this is the production; the killer guitar tone, loud, chunky bass and those klonking, titanic drums! The whole affair sounds abrasive and standoffish and I love it.

Visceral Evisceration - (I Am) Enamoured of Dead Bodies

I don't know what I find more hilarious about this album - the gore-y lyrics or the obnoxious female vocals.

Sorrowful - Oceans of Darkness

Shit, this is a pleasant surprise - no frills doom/death metal here, just straight-to-the-point with the emphasis on engaged, monolith riffs and simple songs.

KG&tLW - Fishing for Fishies

This is cool. It makes a lot more sense that only a fraction of the line-up here recorded Infest the Rats' Nest, an album that sounds nothing like this. Think the latter is the stronger of the two though.

Mortiis - En mørk horisont

A perfect blend of sadness, darkness, glory and beauty. I love how after the spoken words, another layer just swells up and dominates the soundscape before it fades out and is replaced by a folky version of the same melody.

Jahreszeiten, Era of Threnody and Semper Fi are among my fave 'BM' albums. They are fairly distinct from each other stylistically.

Sitting around after getting all my shit ready to head to Full Terror Assault and since Max is going to be there I'm listening to Sepultura - Hungry. Odds this song is played are slim to say the least.

I randomly checked this out, sure that i wouldn't like it...

instead i have to say that despite the heavy repetition this managed to capture me within its medieval atmosphere and it felt way less cheesy than i expected. A good surprise!

Toxik - Out on the Tiles

This song is a bit different from the rest of the album. Has more of an 80s rock vibe to it instead of a thrash one. I dig it!

That's because it's a Led Zeppelin cover. :p

NP: Black Lodge - Dissonance

I remember this track being great and everything else that followed just couldn't compete with it. Lets see if my opinion still stands.
