Gorement-The Ending Quest

Impulse buy from hmv. Its the new 2 cd rerelease with all the demo stuff on the 2nd disk. First time listening to it and i'm liking it! I think the reason i know about this band is because of the insane prices the original fetches. Rather pay £14 for this though and its a great looking package.

Revocation - Teratogenesis EP - The Grip Tightens

I feel like this EP is more in the vein of Empire Of The Obscene. Even bringing back the more gutteral vocals in a few songs. This first song has distincly clean vocals kind of floating in the mix half way through it. The new 7 string guitar sound is different. I didnt see this coming at all but I like it. The guitar solos are still just on another fucking level.

Stratovarius - Move The Mountain

I've been loving ballads the last few days (I Remember You has been played a lot) and I'm not sure why. All I know is that I want more ballads!

I was listening to that album the other day. Pompous, candified metal fun. I think it's better to walk or exercise to than to listen to while sitting inside though...

It is funny that you bring that up actually. The last two days I've been doing my in house workouts to my ballads playlist (essentially similar power metal type stuff). I'd never thought of doing it before, so I think tomorrow I'm going to go for a run with it and see how that ends up.

Shining - Tillsammans Er Vi Allt

It has surpassed Ytterligare from Halmstad as my favorite Shining song. Absolutely perfect on every possible level.

Bolt Thrower - Contact -- Wait Out

Despite my headphones being rather quiet, someone across from me sees reason to find them irritating, somehow filtering out the noticeably louder noises in the room; typing, air conditioning, and the like. In accordance with many worlds theory, I'm listening (quietly) to songs which would annoy said person if I turned the volume up. It's one of those days.

Just be warned in advance that, while Dawn of Destiny's albums are all good, Rebellion in Heaven is the best by leaps and miles and it's not even a fair comparison.

My Dying Bride - Sear Me

Oh, how I've waited to finally get to these guys.

I'll play as guest bassist with a band where we'll be doing an extensive Opeth setlist. I've to learn many songs, included this one. Seems an easy job, half of Damnation and 6 heavy tracks.
