Was never into them before seeing them at FTA last summer. Explosive set and this is a pretty explosive cut.

They are a grower band but a good one.

May I suggest other cuts? Calling in the Coroner, World in a World, Officer Nice, Liquid Courage, and I Profit.

Hoping to hear some new classics on their upcoming EP

Took me a bit to get into the vocals.

I hadn't heard this, thanks! Almost as great as this Metallica / Stevie Wonder mashup which everybody has probably already heard.

Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity

A perfect balance of the old school death metal ferocity of the previous album and the technical insanity that would go on to define them in the future

Armegedda - Svindeldjup Ättestup

Its pretty good BM. Guitars sound nice but it doesn't do anything too interesting. 7/10 so far.

Yeah, that Metallica/Stevie Wonder one is probably the best one. I actually wish the grammy's would have contacted them to do that, instead of both those versions of One with Lang Lang and Moth with Lady Gaga.

Hah, it's funny that you mention it, because it's exactly one of the ones I listened to recently and generated my initial thought from. Great writing and playing, but that mix isn't really my preference.

My last/fm for this year is going to be 'year of Delain' again. Not sure how I feel about that, but if they will put out a great album right at the start of the year, it will happen !

It's my album of the year at the moment, though there are several coming up that could easily topple it. It might be my favorite Delain album overall.

Nothgard- Lightcrawler

Go away you shitters. I don’t need your generic electro melodeath anymore. You fucked up ever since Malady X. Should’ve stuck by your folk roots instead of going the Equilibrium path.

I feel like I must be crazy, since this is the first one by them I've out and out not liked. But eh my taste has veered away from their style a bit.

Listened to the recent Slough Feg and Raconteurs albums today while out swimming and driving... perfect breezy, headstrong summery music.

Epica - Ascension (Dream State Armageddon)

Still think "The Holographic Principle" was their best album so far. I'm hoping their next album's pretty good - the studio clips have been interesting, at least.

I love Hussey's playing in that track. It's like a prototype for what he'd do with The Mission, especially on God's Own Medicine, which is one of my favorite albums. Especially the track "Love Me To Death", which is so much fun to play the parts for, including the bonus acoustic intro.

Thanks man. Power metal forever!. Anyways now playing: Expect No Mercy - Take Care Of Me very tough song to sing. Considering I do vocals only for two months.

Iced Earth- When The Night Falls (Barlow version)

Listen. I love Matt. But there was no reason to make the chorus melodramatic and whiny like that.

I don't hear whining, but melodrama, sure, that's kind of his thing, and I love it. It provides contrast, and is far more interesting than hearing more of Gene Adam's vocalizations that would even make Mustaine cringe.

I know it’s his thing but as much as people like hating on Genes vocals, they actually kind of worked on the self titled album. I get you want to put your own spin on things but the more aggressive tone fit on the song rather than the more melodic side.

Threshold - The Box

The ballady pianos that open this up, with Damian's delicate voice - that's just such an atmospheric, foreboding way to open. I love the way they build things up. What a killer band overall.

It's the worst out out of the three concept albums they had done at that point, but still pretty solid.

NP: Death - Cosmic Sea

As good as Death gets; you can tell Masvidal and Reinert played a huge role in shaping the band's sound at this point.

This is just very cool sounding black metal with a fierce and prideful attitude.
