D.R.I. - Full Speed Ahead!.

Contrary to popular belief, "Dead Meat" and "Syringes in the Sandbox" are awesome songs.

Hell yes man. The sax rules in that song. I picked up the album over the weekend and I love it. I actually just got done spinning it again here at work.

Oathbreaker - Rheia

Goddamn, this is awesome.

Have you thought about revisiting Sunbather after listening to Rheia?

I know this post is literally months old but I did indeed give Sunbather another shot, and my opinion has not changed at all. I don't hate it on aesthetic or stylistic lines; it's just a catastrophically monotonous and tiresome album.

np Judas Priest - Stained Class

A lot of amazing albums would have been released a multiple of 5 or 10 years ago this year, and this is one of them.

SepticFlesh - Virtues of the Beast

Sumerian Daemons is very front-loaded IMO. This song and the next one Faust are probably tied for my favorite on the album.

mgła - with hearts towards none I

My favourite track from this album, although I feel they truly hit their stride on the last record.

Slayer - "Flesh Storm"

Great opening track to kick things off for "Christ Illusion" which I maintain is the last good (not great) Slayer album.

Metallica - "Seek and Destroy"

One of my favorites from the early days of Metallica. A local radio station used to play this on heavy rotation back in '89 and was the main reason I shifted from new wave/post punk to heavy metal.

Exhorder - Desecrator

A brutal supply of Thrash right here... among my favorite releases of the genre alongside Darkness Descends!

Bob Dylan - Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts

This has to be one of the best songs I've ever heard. A towering, peerless epic.

Kamelot - Don't You Cry

Karma was such a straightforward, snappy listen. A sort of variety-show of the aspects of their sound. They sounded a lot more organic and passionate then as opposed to now, too.

Control Denied - Breaking the Broken

Haven't listened to this record in 5 years at least. Some very good technical metal. Great drums, better than his over done performance on Sound of Perseverance IMO. Would have liked to see this band move on but RIP Evil Chuck.

With Hearts Towards None is kinda frontloaded. The quality drops off after track 4. V and VI are kinda disposable and VII just feels like a lackluster ending. Exercises... is better overall though I kinda feel like III and V from that album are the same song.

Slowdive is such a strange band for me--"Alison" is outright one of the most gorgeous songs I've ever heard...but I can't stand any of their other songs. I can't make sense of why this is.

Visigoth - Traitor's Gate

Definitely my favorite track off the new album. It starts slow and builds to some great moments. This band really reminds me of Hammerfall at their best.

A very underrated album by one of the best doom metal bands!

They do both have the same kind of swing in them (I use that term lightly in reference to Mgła)

NP: Agalloch - The White EP. Currently on Hollow Stone

I haven't heard this thing in FOREVER. I can feel a huge Agalloch kick coming on. Pagans REJOICE. Spring equinox is here. :hyper:

The Atlas Moth - Coma Noir

Less psychedelic/stoner than previous works but I am digging it big time. Songs like "Coma Noir" and "The Streets of Bombay" are catchy as hell.

TFW when you recognize your favorite Sepultura riff.....on an album 2 years before it came out.

Blo.Torch - "Inkblack Sky"

Melodic death metal of the Dutch variety. I won't blame you if you thought this band is from Sweden as they really nailed the Swedish melo-death sound.
