The previous incarnation of this thread just died after a prolonged "no posts exists in this topic" disease.

Napero spins Evoken - A Caress of the Void as he types this. You should, too, because Napero is usually right and definitely worth following.

It would be better if people posted at least one sentence of what they think of whatever they're listening to, makes the thread actually interesting enough to look at.

Regurgitation - Repulsive Genital Disfigurement

The predecessors to Necrotic Disgorgement. Better vocals and production, but the guitarwork on Suffocated In Shrinkwrap is still unbeaten.

Regurgitation ruled, i was very sad when Clitorectomy was never released (even got to hear a couple of songs from the promo!) but was thrilled when i found out Necrotic Disgorgement would use some songs that *were* new Regurgitation songs. i found it interesting how they changed "Cliterectomy" to "Clitoral Dectomy" had to shrug at that one hahah.

np:
MORTIFICATION - Scrolls of the Megilloth

song: Ancient Prophesy

(toooo bad what happened to this band, the stuff after this is so SO awful haha!)

I haven't heard this song in ages. I'm glad iTunes decided to put it on!

Hopefully Necrotic will release the new album soon, with better production than the last one. I've heard the Clitorectomy had better than Suffocated In Shrinkwrap.

np: Same as before

Verso - Pale Skin Closer

What the hell do I call this? It doesn't really sound like any specific genre. Sort of just a random muddle of various influences. It's good though. Kind of like Nevermore if they had talent.

Excellent, thank you. Good thing I cleared my cache yesterday!

Listening to birds chirping outside at the moment. Pretty metal, eh?

I'm listening to the next to last song on Root's "Kargeras" right now. It still bewilders me how incredibly upbeat and positive this whole album sounds. I'm not sure what put Boss and the rest of the gang in such a positive place, but its a strange departure and I enjoy it.

As soon as Kargeras is over, its time for a descent into a distant dystopian future as I'll be exploring Voivod more thoroughly. I've only ever listened to the first two or three, and not paying that close attention. I've always wanted to love this band...

The Beheading - Blastmasters :headbang:

Fast, blasting death metal. Kind of Krisiun-ish.

Mist of the Maelstrom - Death of the Sun

I'm really none too sure about this one. Sometimes it feels entirely dull and lifeless, and other times it manages a very convincing and gripping atmosphere. Certainly tough to get into. Unusual with a genre that is normally very immediate for me.
