Devin Townsend - War

From the Order of Magnitude live DVD. Everyone has on Hawaiian attire, there are palm trees on the stage, and Devin starts the song by saying "I'm gonna go to war against my inability to shut the fuck up!"

Bergthron - Verborgen in den Tiefen der Wälder...

This is some really epic black metal.
Glad I checked them out!

Darkthrone - Quintessence

This composition is both brutal and hypnotic. A one of the band's very best.

Soulfly- back to the primitive

I'll never understand the hate this band gets. So goddam catchy it's ridiculous.

Transilvania - On the Back of Satans Stallion

Excellent black/thrash with a great ''old castle'' atmosphere.
And they have a new album coming out, yay!

I have a soft-spot for the song "JUMPDAFUCKUP". I heard it when it first came out when I saw in high school and was clearly too angsty for my own good. I saw them open for Pantera back then, and they played decent live.

Dynasty Warriors 9 OST- Bad vs Bad

As much of a letdown that 9 was, the music as always, is perfect. Fuck this song is so good.

Ramesses - Take the Curse

Now this is some truly crunchy Sludge Metal. Each riff is its own flavor.

Angel Witch - Death From Andromeda

These guy’s should not be this good at this point in their career. Especially the one they’ve had. But 40 odd years later and they’re still here writing fantastic timeless music.

Finally got around to playing the Colombian band Ayahuasca. Really fast death/thrash with Native American influences both in lyrics and music. Something about the extra twangy bass, kind of “wooden” drums, and peculiar tendency of the guitar riffs to suddenly stop and start that all make the band sound exotic.

Thank you to blackmantram for the recommendation!

Cradle of Filth - To Eve the Art of Witchcraft

From a 1993 show in Bradford, England. Emperor also played this show, and the video of their set has been well known for ages.

Uriah Heep - Walking in Your Shadow

Their first album is good old hard rock.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Icarus' Dream Suite Op. 4

There is some beautiful instrumental stuff on the first Yngwie album.

King Missile - Detachable Penis

The deadpan way the guy recites the lyrics really makes this song what it is. He said "penis". Heh heh. Heh heh.

Mob Rules - Insurgeria

These guys have had a rollercoaster of a career, but this debut is still an old favorite. First few tracks are just so unique and catchy; not much else like them with Klaus' weird vocal lines and a drier, more trad-metal style than most of their contemporaries.

Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls

The last two songs on this are so crazy for what he usually does. There's a parallel universe where he just kept going making this apocalyptically heavy stuff for years and just going even further.

Judas Priest - Machine Man

Never listened to anything from Demolition until now. I cringed HARD at the line "So you motherfuckers want to race? You've all got LOSER tattooed on your face!". Vomit worthy.

Burning Witches - Battle Hymn

They got Ross the Boss to play the leads on this cover, and so... actually... it's probably my favourite version of the song. The excitable madness of Laura's vocals suit this song down to the crowd.

Celestial Season - The Secret Teachings of All Ages

Nostalgic as hell; the dour mood reminds me of early October Tide, violins passages of My Dying Bride and certain melancholic riffs of early Anathema.

Yeah, while the same can be said about the album in general.

Listening to it again, today in a great mood for it.
