Wicked Mystic - Depth Of Mind

Killer propulsive power/thrash. This singer has some serious chops. The oddball flamenco/melodic sections add some spice.

Maniac Butcher - Žíznění po krvi, však všeobecně známému vampyrismu ne zcela podobné

Straight on killer BM.

Idle Hands - Blade and the Will

Really, really good trad heavy metal with a good dose of goth-rock thrown in (or at least something that sounds like it to these ears). The whole EP, Don't Waste Your Time, is just smashing.

Judas Priest - Lightning Strike

I've only listened to this album once before, right after it came out. Solid stuff.

I'm in a mood for lo-fi, raw black metal.

Celtic Frost - Jewel Throne

God I love this type of meaty, trad-metal infused with black/thrash kind of sound... the riffs just hit over and over like a sledgehammer and are clearly defined with no bullshit about it. Legendary.

How do you feel about Hellhammer?

NP: Amorphis - The Gathering

Not as vicious and frightening as the EP but still a solid slab of folk-y and somewhat lightweight death metal.

Altarage - Inhabitant

Oh yeah, new Altarage incoming. This one sounds really good, a properly massive sound and a great abrasive guitar tone. The ebb and flow of the song is really good, and the slower sections are not only crushing, but also a good set-up for the blasting sections. Looking forward to The Approaching Roar.

Hellhammer fits that description in your previous post perfectly. Some of the first recordings are pretty awful though. Stick with the Satanic Rites demo album and Apocalyptic Raids.

Slayer- South of Heaven

This song....it's like a James Bond title song sequence to a Berserk movie.

^This so much. "Satanic Rites" and "Apocalyptic Raids" are miles beyond the first two shitty demos.

Paradise Lost - Our Saviour

I forgot how hellish the first PL album is. Fat Black Sabbath-y riffs with death metal chucking and sound with the perfect usage of synth to create a horror atmosphere. It sounds like how Fenriz' from Darkthone describes their debut album Soulside Journey, but I think Lost Paradise fits the description better.

Dimmu Borgir - "Raabjorn Speiler Draugheimens Skodde"

Probably my most favorite Dimmu Borgir song. I just like how this song develops from a slow synth intro into an awesome melodic black metal song. Truly a classic.

I'll be damned if this isn't one of the most bleakest things I've ever heard.

Wildhoney reigns supreme.

NP: Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies and Tangerine Dream - Zeit

it's quite a trip switching between these two albums

Elvenking- White Willow

The demo version of course. The album version is just plain bad. Heathenreel as a whole is pretty lame, Ill never understand the love for that album; at least in this Damnagoras wasnt as awful as he is now. I miss Kleid. I should start up Wyrd again.
