Lordi - Down With The Devil

Some really fun shock rock... I really enjoy the two albums in one feel of Monstereophonic. Been a fan for over a decade and they are still a lot of fun to listen to.

Katatonia - Murder

The Katatonia thread inspired me to check these guys out again. Loving the 2nd album. It's like alternative rock with death metal vocals.

Finnish BM with a nice old Ulver feeling to it!

I'm starting to think I need a direct feed of your NPs. 100% of the times I've searched for what you're listening to that I haven't heard of I end up liking it.

Well, we must have a very similar taste then! :D
Glad you find new stuff.

Tulus - Ulvemelk og trollsmør

Great 90's Norwegian BM!
Nice riff that gets to your head.

Arcturus - various live videos

They really are a strange fucking bunch. Don't know if it was just the alcohol, but The Chaos Path was especially moving.

Paragon - Reborn

Utter steel ownage. Probably their best since their old classic albums from the 00s. Snappy and lethal.

Katatonia - For My Demons.

You know, I've been a metalhead since approx. 1998 (so a year before this was released) and I've NEVER heard it in full, AND one of my top 5 bands of all time is Anathema. This seems almost impossible.

Mortician - Necrocannibal

Mortician may be mostly an internet meme at this point, but Hacked Up for Barbecue is still a fucking fantastic death metal album.

Their live shows are an experience: Chaos Path, Master of Disguise and Collapse Generation blew my mind when i saw them. I'm also quite sure that their alcohol level was pretty high

Killing Joke - Hosannas...

I need to expand my knowledge of them. So far everything i listened was incredibly diverse and equally amazing

Tales of Medusa - An Achaean Invocation

I've been obsessed with this band for the past couple of months. It's great that some of their stuff is on YouTube for those of us not fortunate to own any of their extremely limited releases.

Black Sabbath - Headless Cross

Tony Martin's silky, powerful voice is hitting the spot. Love the old 80s style production too, actually.

Beherit - Drawing Down the Moon

I mean if you're gonna make a black metal album, why not have it sound this utterly raw and bizarre?

I'm playing the same album at the moment and it's really cool stuff - like Sarcófago slowed way down or something.

The new Slough Feg hasn't been put up yet, so I was just trying some random shit I hadn't heard. It's pretty great and the weird atmospheric flourishes make it a singular experience. I always liked extreme metal to sound fucking filthy like this though - never saw a point if you're gonna play dirty music but clean it up, sanitize it, etc.

I think some bands definitely went overkill with that sound and forgot about good riffs (i.e Blasphemy who sound like Sarcófago played on auto-pilot). On a more comical note, I can't help but hear ''bacon fire'' in the track ''Unholy Pagan Fire''.

NP: Obituary - Gates to Hell

Apparently the guitars are in E-tuning on this thing. Fucking unbelievable.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Fire and Ice title song.

I've drooled over this in the past here. Fucking rebellious solos full of feeling. Can't listen the whole LP, because I'm always repeating this.

Skelator - Cyber Metal

It's been like 5 years since the last Skelator album, and it has been worth the wait! This rules!

CARCASS – Exhume to consume
Different version from the album, this sounds more putrid and reeking of underground filth!
Taken from the « Grindcrusher » compilation Lp

Death metal vs gothic metal, that's one from the identical riffs department that for me never gets old...

Vesicant - Bloodmiller

Disgusting, twisted death/black madness from NZ with riffs galore and a bone crushing sound. Fantastic shit here.

Sarcofagus - Subconscious Penetrating

One of the first heavy metal bands from this country, and one of the best also. Cycle of Life was already good, but the second album is superior, IMO. A man with a vision against time.

Green Lung - Templar Dawn

I bought the lp because of the artwork, and wow its some killer Doomy stoner metal.
And this song is about the ''Tombs of the Blind Dead'' movies :D

I....do not hear that at all.

DRI- Dealing With It

Not as good as Crossover, but there's no denying how mind-blowing this had to have been in 85.

Nocturnal Depression - Nevica

A band I have been into for 12+ years at least.
Good atmospheric BM leading towards the depressive side.

Majestic Downfall - Waters of Fate

Melodic yet has a sense of real doom to it. Like the new October Tide albums if they had more grit to them or something.
