Blind Guardian - Damnation

A good track but one of the less good ones on this album IMO.

Man I've only heard The Rack once the other day, but their other shit must be really stellar if that album is "crap."

Entombed - Left Hand Path

Just fucking buzzsaw carnage. Energy through the roof. Raw and wild.

Death the Brutal Way is...alright, but Asphyx have done so much better than writing alright music! Not a fan of the loud production; the early raw sound was a lot better and appropriate and although the material is fine to my ears, it's nothing but background music to me.

NP: Cannibal Corpse - Rotting Head

Forgot how much fun this is. Love the Sepultura influences on this record.

Sonata Arctica - Flag in the Ground

I had mostly written off Sonata Arctica after Unia, but this song just came up on shuffle and I had forgotten how good it is! Feels like it's straight from Reckoning Night. Was this their last "pure" power metal track or are there more that I'm missing?

"The Last Amazing Grays"
"Only the Broken Hearts"
"Shitload of Money" (in the vein of Edguy's sillier tunes)
"The Wolves Die Young"
"Running Lights"
"Cloud Factory"
"Blood"
"Half a Marathon Man"
"Rise a Night"
"White Pearl, Black Oceans II ~By the Grace of the Ocean~"

The Lurking Corpses - Tonight

Very catchy song even though the singer is a cheap Danzig ripoff.

Yeah, since you have no arguments to refute that fraudulent claim.

Production, drums and choiche of demo songs completely incomprehensible …(ironically demo songs are better than album in fact they included the best in follow albums)
Weak songwriting and one dimensional structure of songs

If this is a classic Severed Survival,Onward on Golgotha,Cause of Death and Consuming Impulse what are?

Albums of another universe

One fuckin word, VERMIN! The Rack is savage, raw, necro as fuk and it cuts like a rusty razor blade, it fuckin rules from start to finish Lee, so there.

NP: Pentacle: ...Rides The Moonstorm

Wicked debut. There's a lot of Celtic Frost and Asphyx influences running through these songs but they make it their own. Like it I do.

Just finished Cadaveric Fumes - Echoing Chambers of Soul CD. This album has seriously grown on me throughout the year. When I first got it I didn't like it as much as the split 7" with Skelethal or The Forsaken Triptych 2012-2016 CD. But I find myself coming back to this one frequently.

Currently playing Incantation - The Infernal Storm CD. Not bad, there are albums I like less, but far from a favorite.

How can you say that when literally in the first song of the album it has 3 different variant breaks? Have you even listened to the album? You can complain about the choice songs from the demo but to say what you have said you gotta be trolling or something

The slower bits on The Rack don't always work, but to call it a one-dimensional record is rather bizarre.

NP: Mi'gauss - Open Fire

Non-stop riff madness here; like a mix of Bolt Thrower's undeniably heavy crunch with some traditional metal influences.

Trolling?

Respect other opinions

Asphyx are one of my fav bands but The Rack isn’t a classic

Vermin is overrated as fuck

We can speak in other place like unpopular thread

Ps I try to argument my opinion and my complaint, trolling is another story.

Iommi / Hughes - "1996 Dep Sessions"
Tracks like "Gone" and "Time Is the Healer" are like long-lost Sabbath tracks. Killer album with one of Hughes' best vocal performances.

Steel Inferno - Evil Reign

Fenriz played Breakout on his latest podcast, tickled me enough to check out the entire album. Pure metal!

You sound like you read the morbert review and took it as the word of God. Well written and interesting take but ultimately a load of rubbish.

Rob Dukes-era Exodus is underrated. Shovel-Headed Kill Machine is awesome thrash metal.

Corrosion of Conformity - Dance of the Dead

This song was my introduction to CoC in the early '90s. MTV Headbangers Ball used to play the video of this song every week. Blind still stands as one of my most favorite CoC album.

Hammers of Misfortune - Overtaker
Hammers of Misfortune - The August Engine

Really just can't quit with this brilliant fuckin band. True imaginative and heavy shit. Cobbett just nails it.

Ayat - Fornication and Murder

This and Beherit have really ruined most other BM for me.

Judicator - Metamorphosis

Just fucking tremendous, life-affirming melodies and powerful hooks. This is exactly my kind of epic, each movement feels iconic and earwormy in its own right. The album has its ups and downs, some land perfectly, some don't do it for me, but this song absolutely lands.

This evenings late night listening playlist:

Varathron - Untrodden Corridors Of Hades
Pentacle - Five Candles Burning Red (EP)
Savage - Loose 'n Lethal

I'm a Varathron and Pentacle newbie but hey, better late than never and it's an absolute pleasure getting to know both of these great bands.
I just had to rebuy Savage "Loose 'n Lethal" to replace my inferior version. The HHR reissue is so fuckin good and it's got all the extra goodies a Metla could want.

Lalu - Oniric Metal

Really works just to vibe out to. Fluid, unpredictable prog. Got to try the other two albums. Those hadn't even been out when I originally heard this one.

Absu - The Magus

This isn't really Absu but rather Proscriptor's pre-Absu band, Magus. It's kinda confusing if you listen to it based from the "Origin: War and Magick" compilation and not reading the booklet and not having prior knowledge of the material. It's a collection not just of Absu's material but also of Proscriptor and other Absu members' prior bands Magus and Doldred. Thus, I was surprised to hear doomy death metal playing on my headphones when the Magus and Doldred tracks played as it is quite different from Absu. It's more on the death metal side of things especially the vocals. Quite jarring at first especially if you're expecting the usual Absu material but is enjoyable if you're into death/doom metal.

Malthusian - Delirium

Dizzying intensive stuff as always. Huge fan of Malthusian and Suffering Hour and this split release feels very even and satisfying.

Today I have spun

Bolt Thrower - ...For Victory - The album that got me into this band. Those riffs, those groove, that power!!!
Abbath - Dread Reaver - Not bad, but not a buy I think.

Blind Illusion - Wrath Of The Gods

I am really, really digging this album. It's been stuck in the CD player since I got it. Love the variety and creativity on display, they're still a one of a kind band. I didn't go in expecting a straight up thrash album or The Sane Asylum Pt.2 and I haven't been disappointed, in fact this one's making a late run to get on my top 10 list. I really hope they make more albums.

Tonight:

Trist - Zrcadleni Melancholie
Clandestine Blaze - New Golgotha Rising

I guess I’m really sensitive to music in general but DSBM is probably the subgenre that trigger the strongest emotional response from me.

Pharmacist - Accelerating Suppuration

Pretty fucking intense. Good riff sensibility. Brutal and unrelenting - bunch of 8 minute grind/death tunes. Wild.
