Manilla Road - Playground Of The Damned

I'm trying to get into Manilla Road. I don't know if it's working yet, but I'm kinda enjoying it.

Have you heard The Courts Of Chaos? If not, listen to it. Amazing album. Just delete the cover track. It bogs the album down, and feels out of place.

I listened to Mourning Beloveth (Sullen Sulcus) a while back, just couldn't get into them. I'm thinking of giving them another try soon.

I think Dust might be easier to get into. It's more straightforward. I love that band.

Okay, I'll give it a try. Thanks

Manilla Road - Metal

Such a great album. Epic, but still to-the-point. A taste of what was to come.

That really isn't the album to start with. I fucking love Manilla Road, and I found 'Playground of the Damned' to be a bit of a downer. Anything from 1983 to 1990 is awesome.

The Dogma - Mindfreak

Not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, it's catchy and intense. On the other hand, the harsh vocals are poorly done and it's very chuggy. Hmm...

Anthem - Voice of Thunderstorm

These guys definitely listened to Judas Priest when they wrote this. This is heavy metal to the bone here.

Did they come out with a new album? Shit.

Kamelot - Prodigal Son

The power of this really comes out when you listen to it on a walk on some cloudy, dark and windy day...magisteral stuff, if a bit cerebral.

Yeah, back in 2010. It's called Black Widow.

On the whole, it was a very solid and melancholy album. That song in particular just had some lame chugging action.

Psychotic Waltz - Bleeding

Fourth and as of now final album of the band. Many words have been said about the band writing a new album and honestly I'm all for it since they have reunited with the entire original line-up. My love for the band is well documented and this later style of theirs with a more laid back and relaxed atmosphere is pretty awesome for a chilled out afternoon.

Leagues better than anything Veinen is doing nowadays. Now I just gotta buy a hard copy. Looks like Dark Descent no longer has it.

Thought of revisiting this. The chorus sticks in my head and the vocals, as expected are without a doubt brilliant.

Sigh - In Somniphobia

So I have the spunk to sit through this thing right now. I don't know whether to love or hate it. I can definitely see why people like it though. It's kind of impressive to listen to. I wanna say it sounds too over the top and pretentious for me to enjoy though.
