My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours

Have I made it abundantly clear how much I love these guys yet?

Lizzy Borden - Outcast

Marveling at this for the nth time while I painstakingly sculpt what I hope will be my grandest review to date.

Holy shit! Yesterday I listened to all the Kyuss albums in a row (while driving in the afternoon) and was thinking about (1994) Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas (coming home from a show at night).

Sacramentum - The Vision And The Voice
While I wait patiently wait for the new Darkthrone, this monumental album gives me company.

Utada Hikaru - Sakura Nagashi

Haunting and beautiful, which is pretty unusual for the typically loud and unsubtle Utada...

Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings

This really is a pretty damn good song. The atmosphere is magnificent. Based on the fact that they never had any kind of atmosphere again, much less anything this good, I'm guessing it was accidental.

Swans - The Seer

Apocalyptic music at its best. Swans are still more metal than most metal bands.

Bolt Thrower - Entrenched

Probably not the perfect essay background music, but it's giving me a determination-boost.

I agree - they just nailed consistent songwriting on that one. From the haunting verses and catchy chorus to the dark, creepy part where Barlow growls out in agony - it all comes together perfectly. Too bad the rest of the album sucks.

NP: Virgin Steele - On the Wings of the Night

This sounds so silly.

Damn Colin, I thought you were my friend :aww:

King Diamond - Eye of the Witch, off The Eye

This album is badly underrated. It's as if everyone forgot that KD exists after Conspiracy!

Burnt Offerings isn't even the best song on that album, motherfucking Dante's Inferno, Iced Earths peak.

See this guy? This guy knows what he's talking about! :-D
