Rush - A Farewell to Kings

Lyrics, music, just amazing. First this then the godly Xanadu. Best 1-2 punch to open a record?

My Rush kick continues on and on...

Great band, mate

Thy Catafalque - Sárember

Fuck. Yes! New Thy Catafalque rocks! The solistic part near the end of the song reminds me of Antestor's "Tilflukt", sounds awesome!

Sabbat - "The Dwelling - The Melody of Death Mask"

Finally got around to ordering the Sabbat reissue set from Hell's Headbangers. Not sure what took me so long.

Judas Priest - You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise

One of the first Priest tracks I got into. Very catchy, a classic party metal piece.

Summoning - "Tar-Calion" from With Doom We Come

Didn't enjoy this album as much as I'd hoped when it first was released. Let it rest for a while and now I'm giving it some more playtime.

Succumb - Bedchambers

Anyone into death metal should give these guys a spin or two. It's a really stunning debut.

Judas Priest - Freewheel Burning (Priest...Live! version)

A wonderful live rendition. The band's energy explodes from the speakers, and Halford sounds superb. And I'm pretty sure the tempo's kicked up slightly from the studio version.

^ this must be an example of synchronicity, I was just typing in another thread that Halford should just do Freewheel live again, and retire

Dismember - Sorrowfilled

Until recently, the only Dismember album I had heard was Like an Everflowing Stream, but after listening to Indecent and Obscene on a whim, I might have a new favorite. This album has some fucking tasty breakdowns, and the melodic bits are pure excellence. Matti Kärki rules.

The Cure - "A Forest"

It was later on that I discovered the brilliance of this song. I was content listening to the Cure's hit songs. But I dug their material further and found gold on tracks that I previously skipped on. This is the perfect example of that. Just a great song wallowing in its own murky atmosphere.

Megadeth - Live On Air 1987 - was an unofficial release in 2016. It's got the wrong lineup on the front cover and a few songs are mispelt. Overall, pretty awesome live performance.

And, those two Johnny K. era albums suck i.m.o. They're the only two I can't stand! I'd rather listen to Risk on a loop for a couple of hours, than listen to 13/Collider, once.

Blaze Bayley - Infinite Entanglement

This trilogy is probably his best material ever. Seems like most of the inconsistencies of previous works have been dispensed with. More creative, sharp writing too.

Scavenger, from Belgium, and their one album, Battlefields - It's really good.

The Black album - Still boring as hell. I'm at "Hollier Than Thou" and it's a lame as Ratt's "Body Talk" or Motley Crue's "Kickstart my Heart". Gonna give up on it soon.

I loved this album, and this track is one of the key reasons why (along with the title track and "Laser Enforcer"). I'm hoping that, if they release a new album, this creative streak they've been on continues to hold strong.

Metallica - Hardwired...To Self-Destruct

The Met dudes still know how to throw it down! :headbang:

The bts documentary on the creation of this album is very interesting. I love seeing how songs are crafted in the studio from the start to the end. Fascinating stuff.
