Sacrifice- Soldiers of Misfortune.

Overall this album holds more quality and memorable individual riffs than Forward to Termination, though I find that album to superior in consistency and aggression. Still, this is a damn strong effort overall.

Altarage - The Approaching Roar

This band is a pretty good "Portal's little brother" band. However, I think Portal's riffs just tend to be better.

Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale

A very slow and crushing release and kind of reminds me of Ruins of Beverast.

Humiliation - Bachok's Invasion

Rumbling on with Bolt Thrower-ish tempo, this group from Malaysia continues the legendary British band's knack for war themed death metal.

Ancient Bards - Light

Probably the first ballad they've done that I've loved (aside from the Final Fantasy covers, of course).

Katatonia - Dance of December Souls

I'm only on the first song but damn the rest of the album seems very promising.

Hypocrisy - Left to Rot

The first ever Hypocrisy song I heard still stands as my most favorite song from them.

Fantastic band and album. I find myself enjoying "The Pernicious Enigma" most, truly a trippy experience. It's cliche to say, but it feels very much like a very weird existential drug experience.

NP: Blut Aus Nord - "Memoria Vetusta II"

My favorite BAN album. These riffs are just so epic, with a kind of cosmic occult flair. Not melancholic exactly, but it's a weird feeling, not all triumphant. Nothing evokes the feelings this album does for me. Excellent.

Herman Frank - Fight the Fear

Pretty fucking good. He's got it down to a science at this point but it's still satisfying.

Warcrab, full set from Thrashersaurus 2017. Could not find a full album upload on YouTube.

Was interested in hearing them after that fucking rad album cover popped up in the "shitty album covers" thread. That giant crab was actually awesome. Two songs in, pretty decent so far, sound quality of the live show is not the best, though.

Dream Theater - In The Name Of God

On a HUGE Dream Theater binge in anticipation for Distance Over Time. One of my favorite albums by them alongside Awake and Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence.

Darkthrone - To Walk the Infernal Fields.

A black, bleak track. Not sure if I should order this record or Blaze...

Beast in Black - True Believer

This album could do with more heavy tracks like the opener...but I'm okay with this, too. Ooh, and dat key change doe~

Poison - Fallen Angel

I don't care what anyone says. Poison wrote some great songs and this is a fine example of that.

Beast In Black- From Hell With Love

2 strikes, bottom of the 9th and.........awkward ground hit (complete with weird bat sound), but they get a double out of it.

Also, where have I heard that chorus before? possibly from one of the first two Dio solo albums?

Addendum: It's the verse melody of Breathless, but there's a bit of Youth Gone Wild mixed in for good measure.

Not even close to Moonblood but it's worth listening to.

Sabbat - Horned Is The Hunter

Damn, what a unique thrash album.

For in each delve and greenwood,
far wiser creatures play,
and in their veins and sinews,
live the Gods of yesterday.

Fields of the Nephilim - Fallen

So I had this album too. Don't remember if I've ever listened this. Elizium might still be my favourite. Two first albums are incredible also.

Dio - The Last in Line

God his voice was amazing - just powering out these lines on every song, grit and soul. This album's a lot of fun too. Just straight pomp and swagger and rock and roll.

Bathory - For All Those Who Died

Been doing my black metal exploration and one thing I'm noticing about say Darkthrone vs Bathory is that in terms of headbanging riffage Bathory is on a whole different level. So much of the BM I've been checking out to seems to drone more than rage. A lot of the early Darkthrone is a buzzing wall of guitars that you are picking bits out of. Bathory that I've been checking out is full of deep headbanging riffs that would work on a early thrash record just as well. Ordering Under the Sign on LP today...

Yngwie Malmsteen - Trilogy Suite Op. 5

He really used to make his guitar sing.

Metallica - Fight Fire with Fire

Not a big Metallica listener, but this is some good shit and finish off a Friday with. And speaking of Bathory, I can definitely hear influence on the Blood Fire Death album.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Devil in Disguise

'Eclipse' is such an underrated album, and Göran Edman rules on vocals. Yeah, he's got a kind-of weird lisp, but that's a small mark against him. He sang some of Yngwie's best songs.

Sortilège - Hymne à la mort

First time listening to these guys. This is pretty good stuff. I've gotta say, though, some languages sound weird when a guy wails in them, and apparently French is one of them. But French sounds weird already, so that's no surprise.

I want the Lp releases of this band... can't find them now though.

Wintersun - Winter Madness

Plastic fantastic production wise, but hell this stuff is awesome.
Fast and catchy as hell, killer atmosphere.
They play live close to my area in May, might even go and see them...

Iron Maiden - Fortunes of War

I don't care that Blaze repeats the title 10 000 times, the lyrics are beautiful and the song is stunning. The fat Black Sabbath-esque riff, the gallop and the following guitar solos are classic.
