Moonblood - Dusk Woerot: Chapter II

Something distinct with the sound of Moonblood, just really good BM with a cold and evil atmosphere.

Excellent finnish Heavy Metal.
So ''cozy''!

Marduk - Temple of Decay

Digging Serpent Sermon. Not pure blasterbation, some nice tempo changes from song to song. Picked this one at random out of the bin, seems like a good choice.

Witchfinder General - Death Penalty
9.5/10

You can tell that this band was influenced by Black Sabbath. Although, there actually is some originality in their music.

Saint Vitus - Born Too Late

Kind of a less heavier version of Electric Wizard.

Lord Vicar - Fear No Pain

I don't know, I never get tired of listening to metal. Hope I'm not posting too much in the Now Playing thread! By the way, I only post comments about whole albums, never just songs.

Just recently:

Malthusian - Across Deaths

Sounds great. Violent but somehow decrepit (in a good way). Very grey.

Bestia Arcana - Holokauston

Big fan of this and related projects. No one does tides of oneiric darkness like Naas Alcameth.

Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time

Dickinson's voice has so much damn range and it's hard not to notice his vocals.

9.8/10

Incantation - Diabolical Conquest

Every bit as good as the first two. The closer is a monster of a song.

Edge of Sanity- Purgatory Afterglow

Them riffs. Progressive death metal at its hookiest.

Ghost - Prequelle

I know I said before I'm never going to listen this album again. But time has done its work. If every radio hit would be like Rats, Dance Macabre or Witch Image...

EDIT: Slayer - Show No Mercy

Fuck Ghost. Slayer seemed to have no boundaries back then. Tempted to give Hell Awaits a new chance.

Subtle Change (Including the Forest of Transition and Dissatisfaction Dance)
By: Rivers of Nihil
From: Where Owls Know My Name

Stumbled upon this band and album randomly in YouTube. Fascinating style and mix, overall. I'm intrigued, to say the least.

Darkthrone - Kathaarian Life Code

This is nearly progressive compared to some of the later work, all kinds of shifts and riff changes. :hail:

Opeth - “Forest of October”

Pretty magical stuff, with an immense dreamy atmosphere. Shame they excised the melodrama influences by Blackwater Park.

I saw them live last summer without really knowing anything about them, and they crushed.

Crimson Glory - Transcendence

How Midnight never got the chance to become a household name for rock/metal singers with his voice featured on as many projects as Dickinson/Halford/etc is one of the great shames of the metal genre. Potential cut short.

Astronoid, Air, full album.

Found... someone talking about this band in another thread. Finally looked them up and gave them a listen. More interesting stuff. I'm enjoying this, and I now have an understanding--at least in part--what the fuck Shoegaze is.

check out these albums for a better understanding of shoegaze:

my bloody valentine - loveless
ride - nowhere
slowdive - just for a day

NP: Limp Bizkit - Boiler

I can't believe I'm actually saying this.... but this song is good. The riffs are great(and sound like they came off an ISIS album), the vocals aren't that obnoxious, and overall- it's pretty solid.

Impaled Nazarene - Ugra-Karma

Just started on the first song; sort of has a grindcore sound.

Ingested - The Architect of Extinction

The third track of this Slamcore album has an Elliot Rodger sample, and it's honestly hard to tell if the band is using it because they want to shock or if they just actually like Elliot Rodger. Normally I would assume the former--this IS a Slam album after all, and tasteless shock value is the genre's lifeblood--but given that their first album pretty much is the definition of angry misogynist incel deathcore...

Wanderer/Wintermoon - Split

Just on the Wanderer's side. Good old atmospheric black metal demos from Finland.

Divinyls - Back to the Wall

This song is the definition of a mood. I'm a bit disappointed I haven't found many covers of it, aside from the well done Tropical Fuck Storm version.

Beorn's Hall - Roads Go On Forever

Very good stuff, but this song must be very inspired by Nokturnal Mortum :P
Same melodie as they have in a song, completely the same.

Edit: ''Black Moon Overture'' is the song.

Great album!

According to a post Hansi made on the BG forum two or three months ago, they're hoping to release their long-promised orchestral album this year.

In Flames - Graveland

Killer.

Motorhead - Iron Horse/Born to Lose

Wow, I can recognize this riff in like 90% of all stoner rock bands...

Autarcie - Sequania

Great melodies in this one. In regards to rural-inspired black metal, this is one of better ones I've heard recently.
