Lunar Shadow - Roses

If they can write vocal lines to match the beautiful guitar work, they'll really create a modern classic someday. They're almost there but the vocals are always a little too muffled-sounding, the singers never quite the caliber perhaps the band needs. But still not bad either.

Rotting Christ - Passage to Arcturo

Had this for ages, but never gave it a good listen. I guess I've been too busy with Thy Mighty Contract and Non Serviam. Some good stuff here. Some riffs have that familiar feel to them. Cool keyboards also. The bass drum is fucking loud, though.

Vultures Vengeance - Fates Weaver

Inspiring riffs, soaring vocals and epic arrangements - this sounds really promising. I wish the vocals were louder in the mix though.

Pantera - Over and Out

Quite possibly the best start to a metal song ever. Tis a shame a lot of Pantera fans don't like their pre CFH days. Power Metal in particular is one of their best, imo.

The Ocean - Cambrian II Eternal Recurrence

Perfectly executed growl/clean combination, and guitar work is magical, clean and massive...this band is on the roll!

Ex Animo - Neverday album

Femela fronted gothic metal from Ukraine. Not my type of stuff, really. But yeah, when music's good, it is good! I got this for a few Euros, new, on a record sale. I checked it out first on the net, and was grabbed by fine melodies and performances.

If you know German band called The Gallery, this is a bit like 'em, but more metal. Check out that 1st guitar solo (around 3 minutes)!!! I am hooked.

The Raconteurs - Sunday Driver

This is a pretty fun, unpretentious listen and I'm digging it. Growing on me a lot.

NILE - User-Maat-Re

That new 100% review for the album re-sparked my interested in Nile again and even though I don't listen to all that much death metal these days, this is pretty fucking awesome.

Budgie-Budgie

The final mix of this remaster is just way too quiet. Especially when you compare it to Never Turn Your Back On A Friend. Or I'm wondering if I should reimport it to iTunes with The VBR turned off.

Symfonia - _In Paradisum_

Still checking out Andre Matos-related projects over the years that I had missed. Anyway, this sounds extremely like Stratovarius, unsurprisingly given it was essentially a Timo Tolkki vehicle. I'm still puzzled that Andre's music over the last 15 years of his life was almost exclusively straight-up power metal with very little originality. He played keys and wrote some of the most progressive songs in Angra's 90s oeuvre, but none of that bled over into his post-Angra projects, with the possible exceptions of Virgo and the first Shaman album.

The Cure - Just One Kiss (extended version - 1982)

There's a ton of good Cure material to be enjoyed :-)

Dalriada-A nap és a szél háza

What a great intro, this song is just pure bliss. Honestly, Dalriada can do no wrong and is one of the premier folk bands. They deserve so much more love.

Razor - Meaning of Pain

I love the way the Shotgun Justice album sounds. I'm not super into this kind of thrash all the time, but I sure do love the production.

Eerie riff-driven black/doom metal with tasteful guitar solos. I'm not complaining! :)

Nice.

Tales Of Evening-A Fény Nyomában

Hungary does it again, what an incredible album. The vocalist has a sweet charm to her voice and the keys are littered with wonderful harmonies. I've been on a huge female fronted binge and these guys wowed me from the beginning.

Tales of Medusa - The Gate to Tartarus
Been obsessing over this band for the better part of the last month or so. Absolutely flawless, perfect epic heavy metal. This band is quickly climbing into my top 10.

Atlantean Kodex - Sol Invictus

Still awe inspiring all these years later - there are bands that do this style similarly but few with this kind of writing or attention to detail. Just such a sharp, towering release.
