Visions of Atlantis- Heroes of the Dawn

Huh, this is really good. Loving the celtic influences and the female vocals are really great.

Kamelot - Ghost Opera

I remember this album being a bit polarizing when it came out, though not nearly as polarizing as "Poetry for the Poisoned" (or the last one, "The Shadow Theory"). I thought it was pretty good. Not their best, but pretty good. Still like it, really.

Atheist - A Room with a View

I go back to these first two albums every few years and they always hold up. Just primal, aggressive thrashing with a real musicality and intelligence to it as well.

Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell

This is the real deal. This is what heavy metal is SUPPOSED to sound like. My favorite Sabbath album because it is just great on all levels plus Dio's vocal performance.

Belial - The Invocation of Belial

Late collection of their earliest material. Glad I have Wisdom of Darkness EP now.

It's my favorite BS album too. Pure magic of heavy metal. Glad that i saw them ( actually Heaven & Hell ) live in 2008. Great show.

NP:
Dismember "Indecent & Obscene"

Almost as good as their brilliant debut. You can't go wrong if you like true old school dm.

ALL - Man-O-Steel

I almost feel as though this band has a more solid discography than the Descendents.

Paradise Lost - Perfect Mask

I didn't really find Symbol of Life very memorable as a whole, but this song is one of those that I really, really like.

Kohllapse - Distant Mind Alternative

Underrated gothic metal band IMO with some good tunes. It's a fitting album for this chilly fall day too. :)

I think ''Atlantis Rising'' is the album I have played the least by MR.
Good as any MR really!

Suffocation "Despise The Sun"

Nothing better than hot black coffee and 16 minutes of solid death metal.

The first two songs on that album are great - Heroes of the Dawn has been my go-to "it's 5.30 AM time for work" sing along since the release day :D

For my - I foolishly left my music on shuffle today, so much to the wife's amusement -

WASP - On Your Knees

Not Mr Lawless's finest accomplishment...

King Diamond - The 7th Day of July 1777

These 80s style galloping guitars give me life... whether it's old Maiden or this or Sacred Oath, just such a vibrant, fucking cool style to use.

Haunter - Sacramental Death Qualia (2019)

Some parts remind me of older Opeth, especially the acoustic parts. Good stuff.

Hail true Finnish ABBA metal.

Their new album's pretty fun. Very straight forward Nightwish-style stuff, but enjoyable if you like that style.

Wintersun - Time

Hatera gone hate but I am considering that this might be the best album of the 2010's. It's atmosphere is just godly powerful.

I set "Abigail" as my supreme standard of rating albums, like when it is even better than a masterpiece it is an "abigail" album. That album is just perfect.

It's just a feast of what 80s metal was all about.

The White Stripes - Elephant

This is a desert-island album for me. Love the bleeding-heart emotion and Jack's working class yet sensitive kind of attitude. Big swaggering riffs and delicate acoustics make it a treat and very varied.

Absolutely devastating depressing ambient music by Mortiis. I didn't know about this until recently.

Barathrum - Last Day In Heaven

That riff is one of the best of the best of the best. Timo Rautiainen can (still) rot in hell with his stupid Finnish cover version.

Judas Priest - Never the Heroes

Great album. As everybody probably knows. Haven't listened in a while.

Belial - Lost Souls

This kicks ass. Very very dark.

Impaled Nazarene - Road to the Octagon

Somewhat catchy, punky black metal spit straight to your face. Listening this again for sure.

Striborg - As a Hermit Hiding in the Trance of Night

I was a hermit in the dark woods on a walk just before I put this on now :P
Haunting and atmospheric stuff, love this band.
