Keldian - The Silfen Paths

One of my favorite new bands. Their most recent one, Darkness and Light, grew slowly but surely on me since release and now I’m checking out their back catalogue. This might be my favorite song of theirs, what an exciting and unique take on power metal. The sci-fi stylings are really strong and I dig that about them.

Tales of Evening - Az elerhetetien

I must've been half-asleep when I first checked out their debut several years ago, because I certainly wouldn't have waited this long to check out the rest of their stuff if I wasn't. Super-solid symphonic metal, almost every single track is a winner.

Eldritch - Erase

The combination of chunky chugging and sped up grinding riffing reminds me a lot of Conception. Cool stuff.

Idle Hands - Jackie

My new favorite, this sticks to my head for weeks after I listen to it.
Worth it.

Twilight Kingdom - Forever Sacred

Firm, melodious prog/power with a prominent in-your-face chorus. Fucking incredible stuff.

Kreator - Under the Guillotine

In my opinion... the best out of the Unholy Trinity. Relentless Thrash from beginning to end. So much fun to listen to!

Epica - Storm the Sorrow

If "Design Your Universe" can get a remaster, "Requiem for the Indifferent" should most certainly get one too because the production and mixing are hella muddy. I like the songs, though. Definitely one of my favorite bands playing this style of metal (if not my favorite).

Savatage - Gutter Ballet

What a kick-ass solo this song has.

Twilight Kingdom - Angel to No One

Sounds like early Dream Theater without the bad parts. This band also had superior vocals and a much better ear for melody.

Therion - The Shells Are Open

"Sitra Ahra" isn't my favorite Therion album, but I do enjoy most of it. This and "Din" are my favorite tracks on there. I like this one because...well, it's both weird and catchy.

Candlemass - Where the Runes Still Speak

I've never understood why people don't like Chapter VI.

The vocals are like the best ever.

Headless Cross is one of BS best albums.

Kamelot - On the Coldest Winter Night

That run from "The Fourth Legacy" up to "The Black Halo" is fucking legendary. Four of the best power metal albums of all time in a row. "Epica" is great.

Deep Purple - Who Do We Think We Are! (Best known for "Woman from Tokyo", but there's other good stuff on here too, like "Mary Long" & "Rat Bat Blue".
Helloween - Chameleon: Expanded Edition
Rush - 2112 (STILL RULES!!) :headbang: :headbang:
J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame
Michael Schenker Group - Assault Attack (A CLASSIC! It MIGHT be even better than Built to Destroy).

My problem with it - and I didn't think I'd ever be saying this about an album - is that there's not enough content. 36 minutes across 4 tracks where half of that is one song, and of the remaining 3 one is basically an instrumental interlude. It's too little meat on the bone.

+1. I also said this in its thread.

Crystal Eyes - The Fire Of Hades

Such a kick ass, polished album. The vocals are so damned sonorous but also gritty. The music is some grade-A kinetic power/trad metal with just the right blend of 80s rock.

Terror - Spit My Rage

This is the best tough guy hardcore band, imo. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go put on a hoodie, some camo shorts, a bandanna and stand menacingly with my arms folded outside a 7/11 or something.

Not sure if you know this, but she goes by Mina nowadays. Not trying to be a dick, just trying to be informative and stuff.

She's made the grave mistake of saying she doesn't mind if fans deadname her though. I get it, she went by Keith for a long time and it's helpful for well meaning people who slip up sometimes or people who are only familiar with her pre-transition work and may not even know, but it did unfortunately leave the door open for transphobes to shit on her whenever they talk about her.

Not saying Razz is doing that, by the way, just something I've seen in the years since she came out.

Singularity - Place of Chains

Reminds me of Inferi, but this appeals to me a little more. Something about the rhythm of the songs is just more propulsive and head-bangable. Like, they have blasty parts, but then the drums also kick back into some very satisfying brisk-but-not-blasty rhythms while the guitar is shredding. I think the keyboard melodies are a bit lackluster in the places where they take center stage, but when they work as a supporting instrument, providing a propulsive melodic undercurrent to the guitar riffs, they work very well.

Man they opened for Converge on their most recent tour, over here at least. The crowd was actually more nuts than the main act and having never been to a hardcore show before, I did not anticipate nearly being crushed several times despite being out of the pit itself thanks to all the crowdsurfing (encouraged by the frontman no less.) Fun times!

Damn! Sounds like a great experience. You do get crushed outside of the pit in -core gigs. That's the way of the crowdkiller, and despite it being incredibly stupid and inferior, it's still a way. Just wear a hat with 50cm long metal spikes attached to it and you'll be fine.

NP: Echo and the Bunnymen - Crocodiles

Not better than Ocean Rain, but still good.

Arch/Matheos - Winter Ethereal

It's almost the end of the year and nothing has beat this for me in metal. Slough Feg comes close but this is such a masterful creation.

Demons and Wizards - Poor Man's Crusades

Oh OK it's pretty good. I hated this last time I tried, but eh must've not been in the mood... Schaffer's riffs are all too similar but they knew what they were doing here.
