Seventh Wonder - Like Him

Just discovered this power band. This is the 2nd track from their debut studio album "Become". Interesting melody this song has.

Coroner "Mental Vortex"

I like this album better than before. Still my favorite Coroner album is Punishment For Decadence but MV takes a second place tied with No More Color. Brilliant solos by the way.

My Silent Wake - Sullen Earth

One of the best and most underrated doom/death bands IMO.

(2019) Nile - Vile Nilotic Rites.
Revisiting some albums for the AOTY voting. Best Nile in YEARS!

ALL - Charligan
One of the most technically proficient punk bands. I suppose that goes for the Descendents too since it's basically the same band with a different singer.

"Mercy Falls" is my favorite album by them, Tommy Karevik's voice on it is incredible (naturally). I'd definitely suggest checking that one out. "Become" is good too - Andi (the singer on that album) is pretty damn talented himself.

Hanako Oku - MOTHER

It's schmaltzy, and goddamn do I love it.

Delain - My Masquerade

Probably their best album - they're ace at doing this type of ultra slick, poppy metal. They balance it all pretty well and it's decently heavy and also infectiously catchy. Her voice is so good too. I'll have to check their new material.

Setherial "Nord"

It's cold outside so the best Setherial album is a excellent choice.

Manes - Death of the Genuine

There is something impactful and unsettling in this album: this urban atmosphere is easier to relate to, i have the same feeling with Lifelover

Amyl and the Sniffers - Got You
On one hand, I really don't think doing a Gucci ad campaign like they did is particularly punk. On the other, they're also super catchy and fun to listen to, and they kinda remind me of the X-Ray Spex but Australian.

I love "The Human Contradiction", it's my favorite Delain album as well. "Moonbathers" is pretty good too, though it's a bit more disjointed. They kind of do what Within Temptaiton were doing from "Mother Earth" up to/including "The Heart of Everything", though they're arguably doing it better (and I like those WT albums).

I did like Moonbathers, but I'm not sure why it didn't have the same effect as Human Contradiction. Just more of the same without really expanding or improving I suppose. It didn't leave the same impact and also I was just into very different stuff when that came out.

Delain had a perfect run from April Rain to The Human Contradiction, if you ask me. Moonbathers, though...I just don't get Moonbathers. It's all over the place and the individual tracks are weak.

But as far as the Within Temptation comparison goes, Mother Earth and The Silent Force (straight-up two of my favorite albums of all time) beat anything and everything Delain has ever done 10 times out of 10.

I don't remember the songs on Moonbathers. I remember liking it but eh, you could be right.

"Your Body is a Battleground" and "Stardust" might be the best metallized pop tunes I can think of by one of these sorts of bands. Or some of em anyway. Just so tight and catchy. "Army of Dolls" is great too.

Listening to the new Blood Incantation at the insistence of my fiancé because she’s obsessed with it. Definitely enjoying it though not quite as amazing as others have hyped it to be.

Morbid Angel - Caesar's Palace / Nothing but Fear/ Hatework

I'm costantly returning to Domination lately, it has grown on me as one of their best works. There is an alien, mechanical atmosphere around the album that i feel hasn't been replicated. The vocals are monstrous

Deep Purple - Lay Down Stay Down

Great album. Coverdale and Hughes are some of the most explosive, vibrant voices I know of. Such great performances.

I think its the Rutan influence. Domination has a sound that sets it apart IMO from the other Vincent era stuff.

Mercury Rising - Halfway to Forever

Such a shame this riff-heavy early prog/power metal never became big.

I think that too, his contributions where significant

The weird thing is that i'm not even a fan of Rutan's other bands (except Ripping Corpse) and also i'm only lukewarm to both BATS and Covenant, on Domination they nailed something really interesting

Deadsoul Tribe - The January Tree

This sounds cool so far. I should've checked this out years ago. Seems like some nicely complex, driving prog stuff. Lackey is a great singer and seemed to continue evolving his talent past the Psychotic Waltz days.

Saw them live with Electric Wizard, amazing show. Midnight totally won over the crowd and killed it. Great band.

Neaera - Torchbearer

Single released just yesterday, one of my biggest pet bands are BACK!! No idea they had reformed and had a new album recorded. This song is in the Armamentarium vein, which makes me plenty happy.

The Lamp of Thoth - Blood on Satan's Claw

What a rocking song!

''Hey you! You motherfucking Whore,
You're going to burn, there's blood on Satan's claw
Hey you! You motherfucking whore,
You're going to burn, there's blood on Satan's claw - now!''

Altar of Plagues - Teethed Glory and Injury. This is probably one of my favourite modern black metal albums and the band's best release imho. It has aged pretty well, a great mix of black metal, drone, industrial and electronic elements.

Eddie Money - Greatest Hits: Sound of Money (Lotta good fun on this one!)
Gamma Ray - The Best Of
Rush - Fly By Night (I like the title track & "By-Tor & the Snow Dog" best).
Jack Starr's Guardians of the Flaame - Under A Savage Sky (Not bad!)
Michael Schenker Group - Assault Attack (A CLASSIC!)

Rainbow - Stargazer

After about 10 years of listening to this album, I just noticed that there's a guy standing at the bottom left of the album cover. This is blowing my mind.

A Moment of Silence is a killer album. I don't get why they used a faux British accent with the cleans
