Bal-Sagoth - Invocations Beyond the Outer World Night

This is the one I've had the longest and it just fucking slaughters everything. I love how big and heavy the guitars are, and Byron never sounded better on anything I've heard. Those deep-ass narrations and his growls are all top notch.

Shores of Ladon/Wolfsschrei - split

Good stuff, SoL side is stronger I'd say.

The Dead South - Ballad for Janoski

This is a really talented band. They have a killer ear for hooks and the whole thing moves along really well; just classic rustic Americana.

Mmm. Sentimental value.

That's three of us on here that like them, then :D

Actually, there are four.
Love that band.

Mgła - 'Exercises in Futility VI'

What a closer.

the Cross - Shove It (Good singing!)
Beastie Boys - Solid Gold Hits ("KICK IT!") :-D
Dokken - Return to the East Live 2016 (Decent! It's the classic line-up, too).

Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God

I listened to this band sooo much at school.
And I saw them live rigt after this album came out.

And well, still rocks.
So many years since I have played this band.

Edge of Sanity - "Sacrificed"

I wish I could have seen the reaction to this in '93. And I like how he still keeps a softer version of the buzzsaw tone going.

John Zorn - Snakeskin

This is already a mindfuck barely halfway into track 1. Interesting for sure.

This makes me feel like I am trapped and high on drugs in the Eyes Wide Shut mansion.

Crazy Lixx - Girls of the 80's

Miles less greasy than Steel Panther (but still a joke) - it's like Whitesnake, Poison, and the Crue got together to make a song about the girls in their videos :D

Bedsore - Hypnagogic Hallucinations

Prog tinged old school death metal in the vein of Horrendous and Morbus Chron. Yet another band to keep an eye on!

Equilibrium- One Folk

If this is what they released to try to get you forget about the garbage that was their last album, it's not working. DULL as fuck.

Khemmis - Down In A Hole

They took a classic Alice In Chains song and put a doomy twist on it. The best covers are ones where the band interprets the song in their own style rather than simply trying to replicate the original.

One of the best death metal albums ever; sure, it's an EP, but it's better than most DM full lenghts!

NP: Obsecration - Recollections for the Great Unknown (Hyperborea Pt. III)

I'm definitely not a huge fan of the band (I only like the second album a lot), but this sounds really promising - wild Greek death metal with a thrashin' flavor to it.

Butthole Surfers - Electriclarryland

This is some brazen, fearless, fuzzy, weird rock music and I dig it.

Anathema - Fragile Dreams

This is basically a Sentenced song with different vocals on it.

Deep Purple - Step By Step

There's just something satisfying about listening to masters of the craft do their thing. It seems effortless from them which is how it is with great artists of any medium.

The Smiths - What She Said

Hell of a band - I can see why they were popular. Eclectic and soulful all at once.

Double post but,

Just heard the Remix version of The Boys Are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy that came out back in 2011. I had never heard it before.

This is one of my favourite songs of all time, and holds SO MUCH sentimental nostalgic value. I don't know who thought this remix sounded good, but a lot of the magic seems sucked out of it. The drums sound SUPER out of place that high and over produced in the mix.

I hope to never listen to this again, lol.

I love synthwave, but for some reason Dan's work hasn't hit for me yet.

NP: Kaipa - "Screwed-upness"

Down the prog spiral again. The musicianship is off the charts with Nilsson and Agren in particular.

I fucking love Dan Terminus. His new song (Ruins), however, is a little bit disappointing. Anyway...

Agalloch - Scars of the Shattered Sky

Agalloch's instrumental songs are always amazing. This is no exception.

Semargl - Disconnection

Yes, THAT Semargl, although this was before they became a dancepop band. This particular song is groovy ass blackened death metal, and it kicks all sorts of ass.

Wow, I'm sitting in a chair too. Clearly, this band knows exactly what I'm going through.
(This is a great song, by the way.)
