Hi folks! This week I figured I'd go back to the last great Danzig album: 4P! This album turns 30 this year. I figured this would be a good chance to discuss the album, memories associated with the album and more!

It’s a shame this album never seems to get the same love as the first three. It’s just as great and a strong last hurrah for the classic lineup.

Exactly, 4P is criminally underrated and has absolute bangers on it. I love it more than the first Danzig LP.

Agreed, and I'd go so far as to say it's my personal favorite Danzig album. I love the more industrial-tinged tracks and the whole LP has this dark atmosphere that goes beyond any of the first three albums IMO.

The hidden track - invocation - is super eerie and creepy.

It’s my favorite of the four. And Chuck’s drumming is on point.

Like a lot of fans, this one did not click with me when it was released and then the whole band left/got pushed out and that was more or less the end of my interest in Danzig for quite some time. I revisited many, many years after it was released and I found a lot to love about it and, yeah, I would definitely put it up there with the first 3 albums.

Great album...love the atmosphere. I prefer the first three and their bluesier approach, but 4P delivers.

I put it off for years as the first song I heard was Cantspeak and didnt like it. Ended up hearing Until you call on the dark and loved it. My favorite song is probably Stalker song.

What does the 'p' in 4p stand for?

The 4P refers to the alleged Satanic movement seen as an offshoot of the Process Church of the Final Judgment. Believed to be connected to the Son of Sam and Manson Family. (Got this off wikipedia)

Definitely the last top tier Danzig album. I still hold out hope they'll do some kind of reunion especially after the Samhain(partial) and The Misfits reunion, but logically this is the least likely because in the case of the latter, Jerry still had some stake so had to be part of the process.

4p I feel like has some of their weakest material of the classic era intermingled with some of the best. Bringer of Death is a fuckin' banger.
