I think all mine have already been mentioned...
My favorite's easily Repugnant, though.

Bros, can you post like a youtube sample or something? Of your favorite song or the one that best represents them.

Half of this thread is basically an ad for Dark Descent records

and I'm jumping on that bandwagon:

Crypticus is worth a mention as well

Matan S.A. - La Matanza está por Comenzar. Nice debut. Solid riffing, cool leads, and a great vocalist. Plus growls in spanish, which are awesome. The only bad thing on this album is that they use a fucking sample per song, which gets annoying. Includes a hidden cover of Slayer's Black Magic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D08GR-LfdD4 Hierarchy of Death by Progeria. the song is Disciple of Evil, and its probably my favorite track overall. more death/doom than some other bands in the thread but it definitely sounds like its straight from the 1990's. awesome stuff right here

Yes! Holy fuck, what a good album! Just rocking, no frills, old school awesomeness recalling a time when black metal and death metal were nothing but words people tossed around to sound cool.

I find vasaeleth a tad too simplistic and stripped down, I like a bit more flair in my death metal

Yea I'm with you. I don't think vasaeleth is that great. I mean it's okay, but when I listen to it I find myself just wanting to listen to Incantation instead. Its like a handjob, it's nice but you know what you really want.

I post this cause it's OSDM, but they are not THAT new...

As Dominus Xul, it exists since 98 (92 as Dominus) and it's one of the first bands that followed the path paved by Incantation.

Also, I can't find another guy who can growl as Craig Pillard like this guy.

I mean, Sadistic Intent are old-school Death Mtal as fuck.

There is a band from Germany called Suffersystem, which has a lot of Sadistic Intent influences in their sound on their last CD:

Claws - Absorbed In The Nethervoid. More Finnish old-school brilliance. The monstrous, murky guitar and demonic vocals are a particular highlight, along with ripping song writing.

i second this recommendation. some of you will probably recognize the vocals, it's Lasse Pyykkö, from Hooded Menace. so definitely check this out

Diskord - Doomscapes

I can't believe nobody mentioned this one yet... Sort of like Autopsy mixed with some weird technical riffing, I'd take them over Obliteration if you ask me.

Funebrarum - The Sleep of Morbid Dreams

Another cool band, sounds like a lost Swedish album from the 90s.

Sleep of morbid dreams is more Finnish. They're pretty much exactly what abhorrence would sound like if they made a full length

damn im surprised no ones mention this so far.

Slugathor - Echoes from the Deep(2009) ~ killer mid-paced DM that can get pretty groovy sometimes. the guitar tone kinda yells "old school" at me, but i could be off

I love slugathor, not sure if I'd call it flat out old school revival, but it does remind me of stuff like Rottrevore, so I guess it counts. Amazing album, perfect guitar tone.

Thought I would revive this thread since I have been listening to a lot of OSDM revival stuff lately. Here are some of the ones I have been listening to a lot lately. Some of these have already been mentioned.

Graveyard - One with the Dead (2009)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6asBlPR6Be8

Fairly typical Swedish styled death metal that sounds like a Sunlight Studios recording. These Spaniards do it right.

Cruciamentum - Engulfed in Desolation (EP)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7Jgzw0L ... re=related

Kind of a mix of Incantation and Swedish death metal with some more melodic touches to it. Really impressive.

Karnarium - Karnarium (2008)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5x0qY1_jgo

A little bit chaotic. I can hear some Autopsy and Morbid Angel in here.

Morbider - When Darkness Returns (2009)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Pz6UD3ZAtA

They have been around since 1992 but this is their first album. Mostly in the Swedish style but has some interesting leadwork that helps separate it from the countless others in this style.

Morbus Chron - Sleepers in the Rift (2011)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3bK2WPFGE4

Been one of my favorites for a while. Autopsy worship pretty much.

Nailgun Massacre - Backyard Butchery (2011)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbbXd8bz ... re=related

Not sure if I have heard these guys brought up before but they need more attention. More along the lines of Cannibal Corpse than all the Swedish, Finnish and Incantation worship going on. The vocals are more like those sick choking shouts than Barnes though, which is a good thing for me.

Diocletian - War of All Against All (2010)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzCLxsMkzzg

Perhaps a bit out of place here but this is some very good black/death metal that is very hellish sounding.

Another one I will add to keep this thread alive.

Decrepitaph - Profane Doctrines Unburied (2011)
Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqRWIR1ZzBs
Very filthy death metal that feels like a corpse rotting. The guitars are incredibly thick and sludgy bringing to mind stuff like Asphyx and the riffs are very groovy. The vocals are very low as well. If you like stuff like Asphyx, Baphomet and Rottrevore then check them out.

suprised to see that no one has mentioned ENCOFFINATION. thier first full length (i think its the first one anyway) is fucking killer incantation-like death doom, but slowed down to funeral doom paces at times, and i cant wait to get my hands on a copy.

A Nihilist/Entombed reference in the band name, a Dismember reference in the album title, and it's got Swano involved?

Gee i wonder what it sounds like.

Revel in Flesh don't really stand out to me. Already a lot of bands playing that Swedish d-beat style of death metal that it takes a lot to stand out to me.

I prefer Graveyard or Tormented for straight up d-beat worship.

I linked Graveyard above so here is a Tormented track.

Obscure Infinity and Interment. I know the latter is a old band but they only recently released their first LP. I consider them part of this glorious resurgence.

Nocturnal Vomit from Greece play OSDM inspired by (early) Morbid Angel & Nunslaughter. They have a demo compilation titled "Divine Profanation" and have done splits with Bestial Raids & Embrace Of Thorns.

Mutilated Messiah from Ireland play OSDM in the vein of Slaughter (Can) & Sathanas. Have done a split with Nunslaughter.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Vomitor yet.

Necrovomit from Italy play old school blackened death and have dome splits with Mefetic & In League With Satan. Any fans of Blasphemophagher shouldn't be dissapointed.
