An additional question - does this look like an original Iron Maiden "Killers" Black Triangle series japanese CD?

Nobody could help me with that Iron Maiden disc but maybe there some who could help identify one of the biggest rarities in metal CD's - Angel Dust's "Into The Dark Past"?

So - is this CD a bootleg?

From the first view I would say original, but it would help more to have a full picture from the matrix number taken from above the and not in that specific angle

Does anyone know anything about foteresse russian bootlegs? These three sellers here look really suspicious (https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/3044140?ev=rb).
Not that I ever buy from russian sellers of course, but I stumbled upon a copy of it where I live and it's sealed, which is kind of fishy, I just want to know how the russian version looks like.

I think my copy of Helmet’s Strap It On (https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/H ... t_On/13725) is a fake.

I think this because one of the tracks is listed on the back and inside sleeve as “Bad Moon”, when the actual name of the song is “Bad Mood”. Maybe it’s a printing error, but the pictures of the vinyl that I’ve seen have the exact same jacket art and the third track has its proper name.

Here are images of my CD and its case (sorry I couldn’t figure out the image tag):

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lrTRTF ... p=drivesdk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tWl7D0 ... p=drivesdk

Can someone help me out with identifying this, please?

So, recently I bought Into Glory Ride by Manowar. CD works fine, but lyrics on booklet didn't match.
https://imgur.com/a/CJP9kXM
I figure it out, that lyrics are from Hail to England. Does anyone knows anything about it?

Xtreem Records is selling CD copies of Black Sabbath's "Tyr," which seems very hard to find in the US. Anyone know if it is legit/other places to find it?

Hi, I noticed that some bootlegs for Angel Witch’s Frontal Assault and Screeming Bleeding have recently shown up on ebay and discogs... does anyone have heard them?? I generally hate bootlegs but this could be the only way to complete their discography on cd.

Is this version of DRI - Crossover legit?

https://www.discogs.com/Dirty-Rotten-Im ... se/9723518

Discogs says that this was released in 1994, but... there's a web address on the back cover. Also the matrix: D.R.I./CROSSOVER/10833 looks a little bit weird to me.

Agree, looks strange, but hard to say anything not seeing matrix itself.

Quick question for the staff?

What is the deal with the Morbid Angel "Thy Kingdom Come/Abominations" 7" single?

It was released on a small indie label and had a picture of the three crucified corpses on the front and a picture of Alister Crowley on the reverse.
It's not listed in the discography; it has the cassette demo with three songs but not the 7" vinyl.
Was this an official release or an, uh, not sanctioned release? I'm certainly not about to suggest adding it either way (I'd assume it would be there if it was totally legit.) I saw this in a record shop way back in the day and bought it; it was right around the time "Altars of Madness" came out, but the record has a much tinnier, low-fi production than the full length.

^Yes, that's the one; the regular discography only lists the cassette with the 3 songs and not the record; you have to click on "Other Versions" apparently, to see it, so that's why I didn't see it listed there.

^Such a cool demo. It's a shame Morbid Angel haven't released a comp with all of their rare stuff from the 80s. There's got to be a market for it. I had to go down Bootleg Rd to get it unfortunately.

Electric Wizard- Witchcult Today. Curious if anyone experienced issues with this CD?

I don't really think this would be a fake, but the quality of the booklet seem so poor that I sort of second guess it. Everything seems to match the info on this discogs listing:https://www.discogs.com/Electric-Wizard-Witchcult-Today/release/12511410. Also it was shipped/sold by Amazon.

I just don't think I have ever really encountered a CD like this where the print on the lyrics sheet and notes is so small and also the resolution is so low. You can see in one pic the comparison between a normal booklet and this one. It is still illegible even zoomed in on photo.

It's also weird that it has the wrong catalog # on the back (RISELP100). If it weren't for the discogs listing, I would think that it wasn't an official issue.

Hi, I just bought "The Nocturnal Silence" by Necrophobic on ebay. Now I am not sure whether it is a Russian bootleg (damn these fuckers) or whether it is an original. Does anyone know how I can discern the following two?

If you've been buying from someone in Russia on ebay, it's probably is the bootleg:
https://www.discogs.com/release/1328981 ... al-Silence
Probably this release from KIVI pressing. This reissue has poor quality CD plastic, and the font in the matrix is a little different, so it's easy to distinguish from the original.

Does the 1st press CD (Osmose Prductions - OPCD 064) for Marduk's 'Nightwing' include artwork depicting Vlad Tepes in the booklet?

The original vinyl version does. For the original CD edition, there are no pictures on Discogs except for the front & back covers, plus the CD...

The vinyl edition prices are above 100€...

PS. Sorry if the thread is wrong.

This is not a bootleg question per se but for those that have heard both the Under One Flag and Combat Records version of Nuclear Assault's "Game Over/The Plague" - which one do you prefer and why? I know the UOF press is better in terms that is features artwork of both releases which is a huge plus and has lyrics that can be read for "Game Over".

There is a possibility of a Russian bootleg. Some of the Metal Mind titles were bootlegged in jewel case format this way.

My question would be this: does anybody have the 2007 remastered CD edition of Jag Panzer's "The Fourth Judgement" and can compare it to the original 1997 edition? Are the dynamics intact etc.?

I have a copy of Katatonia's Jhva Elohim Meth. The repress version. Only a little less valuable than the original press. When I checked on Discogs the Matrix/Runout matches but my copy has no Mould SID code even though on the release page it shows several variants of a Mould SID. I hope this doesn't mean I have a bootleg. I was under the impression that I had a first press all this time but I just found out it's actually a repress but it might not even be that.

I'm noticing a discrepancy with my copy of Alice in Chains' Dirt. For some reason on the back and disc track listing, Down In A Hole is listed as the fourth track, and the untitled track is the 10th track listed. This doesn't seem to be the case with any of the versions of the album I can find on this site.

Yeah, that release seems to be what I'm looking for. There should probably be a note on the page talking about this weird situation.

Anyone have additional information on this Valour Music cassette release of Sororicide - The Entity? is this officially licensed by the band? It seems to indicate it is on Metal-Archives, but Discogs has it listed as unofficial. It would be the only official release listed on Metal-Archives since the originals, so it has me skeptical.

Hey all, I have a question regarding the picture vinyl of the Endless Pain album by Kreator (realeased via Noise Records). It's got the album cover printed on the vinyl and a black sleeve.
I bought this vinyl by some vendor at a festival and was wondering what version/edition it is and how many copies there are. And since I couldn't really find any info on the picture vinyl (just the regular ones) I figured I'd ask the forum :)

So, just discovered that my CD copy of Satan "Court In The Act" is probably a bootleg. It's the Neat Metal / RR 1997 reissue NM019 and I've had it for a very, very long time, I did in fact buy an original back when it first got reissued around '97, but parted way's with it and then sometime in the '00's picked it up again 2nd hand from a record store in Auckland, New Zealand, and I've happily had it in my collection ever since, never once suspecting it to be anything other than an original. The booklet and back insert are so well done it's insane, so authentic it's not funny and the disc looks perfectly fine, sounds great too. But I've just looked at the silver side, the inner ring in particular and alarm bells have gone off. There's nothing except for the words Court In The Act imprinted on the inner ring directly beside the playing surface. Experience over the years has told me this is most likely a bootleg and probably a Greek one. There's nothing like it to compare it to unfortunately on Discogs, which is kinda strange. Tho I did search for other Greek unofficial releases of other artists and discovered that some did have the name of the album imprinted on the inner ring like this one. It's a excellent bootleg for sure (I'm assuming it is anyway, unless anyone has info otherwise) and I'll keep it but thought I'd mention it here and see if anyone else had a similar experience and could give some more insight into Greek bootlegs or even have a copy like mine.

Hey guys, I got a question for you:

What differentiates an original pressing of a CD from a reissue? One obvious answer is that time has to pass between the first and the second, but when looking at many albums here, I notice that they have multiple versions of the same album released simultaneously. Are these all to be considered first editions or is anything with bonus material technically a reissue?

Hello guys!

I bought this album on eBay a few years ago and apparently looks legit but I still have some doubts. If you pay attention to the Matrix / Runout looks like it differs a bit from the one presented in this link:

https://www.discogs.com/release/382328- ... IwOTI4MjA=

What are your guy's thoughts?
