I've heard that the album has been done for quite a while now, and hasn't been released yet only due to legal issues.

Yep, it's been years now. Fuck legal bullshit. Just do what Deathgrips did and leak it yourself. Or whatever, wait forever until it's sorted and do it properly and stuff.

disobedience pays and all that... at this point i doubt it'll get officially released anyway - someone will leak it at some point; just surprised that hasn't happened yet (assuming the rumors are true about the album being ready - mixed, mastered and all that)

If the band does have a contract to honour with Earache and they're the only ones having access to the allegedly already recorded album, imagine what would happen if the album got leaked somehow. My guess is that the "legal bullshit" would be much much worse from then on.

No one really knows what happened because there's just a few words from each side and none is the least bit conclusive. I'm not expecting this to ever see the light of day, so Dreamon about a happy ending (pretty bad attempt I know...).

Well, they'll have to play the the great juggler then, and find a way to release it someway else... by now it seems like any kind of magic or miracle has to help.

Nah, I would appreciate new Anata stuff as well... I'm not much an expert in these regularities, but why not quickly produce one rather crappy album for Earache and then release their proper stuff on their own once the contract's fulfilled?

That's something only Anata can answer. They may want to retain their artistic integrity in not releasing bullshit music, or they don't have money to pay for a studio or whatever. No one really knows apart from them, and that's basically that when concerning the new/upcoming/unreleased Anata album. Only they really know what's going on. We're just getting a few "sound bites" between the parties every now and then.

Indeed, there's a problem yet to be solved. Perhaps they think that they're better grieved than fooled by Earache.

Apparently as of 2011 (according to Earache), the album is unmixed and there are no vocals yet.
