It leaked this week, I haven't heard it yet but if we base ourselves on the cover, it's gonna sound like Nifelheim and it will be freaking amazing!

Leaked? They've been selling CD copies at NWNprod.com since Monday! I haven't heard it but I've got faith that it is a standard-bearer for the "greek sound". I'm glad the cover art rules, I guess Magnus from Necromantia had no involvement in that decision.

I've not heard Vasaeleth's music yet but when I look at that album art, it reminds me a bit of Ominous Doctrines!

Anyway, seeing this thread resurface makes me want to check out Thou Art Lord's new release. Has anyone listened to it yet?

i've been listening to random tracks on youtube just now and they all sound quite good to me (i'm new to the band an mainly checked them out because of that awesome album cover)

that vesaleth track in bandcamp sounds to my ear to have the drums mixed way too loud - is it a final mix?

I'm excited for the Vattnet Viskar full-length that's been announced for September. Their EP is excellent and they're an awesome live band.

Probably the two releases I'm looking forward to the most are the new Inquisition and the new Mammoth Grinder. Just look at this cover art!:

Spoiler: show
Image

I also put up a review for that MG/Hatred Surge split since the Mammoth Grinder tunes on there are absolutely killer and hopefully indicative of the direction the new album's going in. I've also got my fingers crossed hoping for an Innsmouth full-length this year, but that's just speculation/hopeful wishing.

I'm looking forward to the new Mammoth Grinder as well, and holy shitballs, that's one hell of a piece of cover art right there. I saw the picture of this in the death metal rec thread, but the larger version you've posted is... wow.

I'm also looking forward to the new Ruins of Beverast album, but I have no idea what's happening with it. Last I heard a new song was up on youtube with a rumoured release date of May, but since then there's been nothing.

Ah, there ya go.

I came across this Canadian band called 'Stallion' which have released two tracks and are coming up with an EP towards the end of the summer. They got a smashing 80s heavy metal vibe going on. They're definitely one to look out for.

Anyway, stuff I am waiting for :-

* Grave Miasma - Odori Supulcrorum

* Last Sacrament - Enantiodromia
Image

The first microtonal extreme metal band in history. Loved their EP.

* Temple Nightside - Condemnation
Image

* Ævangelist - Omen Ex Simulacra

* Shroud of the Heretic - Revelations in Alchemy
Image

Loved their 2011 Death Doom ep. Fans of bands like Grave Miasma, Incantation, Sonne Adam will like this.

Shaded Enmity's new album sounds phenomenal so far, just by looking at the track names I can tell this is gonna be one of those really heartfelt, melodic and beautiful albums from start to finish.
Out of Yesteryear's new album is pretty spot-on too (ignore the name, think Behemoth with a bit of a blackened almost Watain-esque feel with a few chugging passages thrown in)

I wish I did. This was posted in a youtube comment if you haven't seen it already.

Hey Mate, unfortunately there's no physical demo yet. Stay tuned for a possible demo release on CD or tape via facebook (for link see video description)
There will also be a EP available in late summer which will arrive on colored vinyl, with patch and all the other fancy stuff :-D
Stay heavy, dude!!

According to Obliteration's Facebook, they should have a new album out sometime this year. Could be pretty soon, too. Definitely excited about that, as Nekropsalms is an awesome piece of death metal, and it's been way too long since that came out already.

Two more weeks until the new Trouble album, The Distortion Field. In spite of Simple Mind Condition being such a disappointment and no plans to release any songs between now and then, I'm still confident this will be as strong as I'm hoping. Nothing game-changing or classic, but a salve on the wound for those let down by the new Black Sabbath. Fortunately, I'm still smitten with Cathedral's The Last Spire to be overly concerned that the masters just missed the mark for me. A step up in the production (Bill Metoyer back behind the board this time) and another one moving Trouble closer to their doomier side than they've been in a while should go a long way. Having Kyle Thomas on vocals allays any fears about whatever influence his predecessor left behind - which is to say, very likely none at all.

I also loved the EP. I am just listening the first single from Revelations in Alchemy. Firstly I wasnt that impressed but now I like it a lot.
Band itself was suggesting that new material will be more experimental. I am really curious.
