Ireland's Scáth Na Déithe, a relatively new band have just released their debut album 'Pledge Nothing But Flesh' and a damn fine debut it is. This is dark and murky black metal with a haunting atmopshere and it makes for quite a captivating listen. There are moments it will lift its head from the dissonant shadows in favour of melody with some very nice tremolo riff. The vocals are more 'guttural' than your standard black metal affair but they work quite well. An enjoyable beast and a very promising start that should appeal to both black and death metal fans.

It has indeed some special because at times the sound is not what I usually prefer but the band manages to create always something interesting. I will revisit this album for sure. Nice one(again) STORMM!

Thanks mate. I knownwhat you are saying as I dont normally go for dissonant sounding stuff but these guys mix it up very well and come out with really good material!

That is a very fair score thewrll, probably similar to my own :)

The cover art has a very "Connecticut Haunting in Georgia" vibe.

I'm not too wild about the music, but that is really cool cover art. I might have to give them a bit more of a listen and see if anything clicks with me.

Cool, havent heard of this must check them out. Great to see a bands name in our Irish language. Irish mythology and folklore is perfect for black metal, was always surprised we didnt spawn more bands.
