Yes it's true, Insularum is finally out and judging by the you tube clip it sounds quite promising. I have not heard the whole album just yet but if it is anywhere near as good as the fantastic Noontide (do yourself a avour and check this out) fans of their music will be more than pleased, just wish they would drop all the NS bullshit. The drums sound a lot more realistic this time?? This album has been rumoured to be coming out for a long time now so it is good to see it has finally happened.

So it's out? That is excellent news. I look forward to listing to it. As for National Socialism, don't be put off by that. Most people have been conditioned to feel an innate revulsion at the thought, but that is just a Pavlovian reaction. True art, true beauty never submits!

Disliking a band with a glorified swastika on their album cover is a Pavlovian Reaction? Lighting up a smoke every time I get in the car is a Pavlovian Reaction; you might want to retake Psych 101.

So this is Fanisk? I have to say, that sample was very nice, but, yeah, it's tough to get past a band that proudly has an album cover with a big-ass swastika on it.

Why do pretty much all NS bands associate themselves with Nazism/Nazi Germany? I know the Nazi party was a NS political party, but you can be a national socialist and not support what they did. In other words - it seems like they do it for shock value more than anything.

You would not be alone here balor. I would say the band would be more successful if not for this. The copy of Noontide I picked up a long time ago has the swastika blacked out!

Similar to myself, I listen to them for the music at the end of the day which is too good to ignore.

There are a couple of NS bands I enjoy, most of those manage to go whole albums without overt nazism in the music or have some sense discretion. Iuvenes, for example is labelled as NSBM (although that seems to have been changed on the archives), however Riddle of Steel is pretty much NS free, from what I can tell. Definitely nothing outright racist, I think.
And Nokturnal Mortum supposedly abandoned it as of Voice of Steel.
I mean, the only way I would even think about having that in my collection is if I had a defaced version like yours.

There are actually only around 10 copies of Noontide with the swastika. Every subsequent issue had the blacked out sun, and, though I'm not familiar with the apparent themes of Insularum, it doesn't appear to be Nazi themed. Admittedly I'm not acquainted with the subject, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Regardless, I'm a big fan of Fanisk because of their musical side, and I try to overlook the silly ideologies, as I do with artists like Burzum as well.
