I've been listening to The Angelic Process a lot lately. What are some similar sounding bands? They can be within the metal spectrum, or further outside it. The combination of ultra-heavy sounds with melodic vocals is what I am looking for, primarily.

I've been curious as well to know if M. Dragynfly has done anything with music since K. Angylus passed away.

You might be pushed for luck to find an exact match, TAP are pretty idiosyncratic and nothing will beat WSWS in my eyes.

Most obvious recommendation is Nadja for the similar guitar tone and wall of sound, though not as melodic:

Have a Nice Life are also often recommended in the same circles and are similar-ish (the less post-punk stuff at least) with more electronic influence:

(Dolch) are a mysterious German act that I would pretty much consider to be the perfect combination of Urfaust and The Angelic Process.

Second Nadja and HANL. Year of No Light’s early albums sound a lot like TAP if I recall. Also check out Suffering Astrid on bandcamp. Early Jesu might also be what your looking for. Lastly, this page has a lot of drone doom whatever type bands
