Well, you know, not that corny-n-cheesy Alestorm/Running Wild stuff, with all that 'Pirates Ahoy" attitude but bands with thick atmosphere, meaningful lyrics and music of appropriate mood: sea depths, seafaring, perils and misteries of the Ocean, shipwrecks, death and madness in the maw of the Great Blue Abyss... well, something like that.

Clean vocals preferred. Heavy, power, doom, maybe prog metal - I don't know, the overall atmosphere and mood is the key.

Thanks in advance.

Ahab https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ahab/35791 is the only band that comes to mind right away, which you probably won't like, but I'll give it a think...

you can try searching on the main page for "sea" or "ocean" in lyrical themes. I just did :) but I don't recognize many bands there, and those I do I wouldn't recommend :D

this is a song about depression, written as an allegory of dark waters... not metal tho
Spoiler: show

SIG:AR:TYR's Northen is a concept album about the viking voyages to Greenland and north America, and it includes quite few songs about seafaring... very melodic, but with lots of harsh vocals unfortunately :(

savatage's the wake of magellan is not really about seafaring, but it does have songs with titles like "the ocean" and lyrics of the "waves whisper and i hear" sort...

Mastodon's Leviathan is influenced by the novel Moby-Dick. It has harsh vocals but it's a very great record.
Undersmile is good, sludge post-metal with athmospheres.
Thermohaline is an interesting band but more on the black metal way.
Sailing to nowhere and Wake of sirens are more on the power paths, that should more talk to your ears. They're not bad i think.

Elend for sure. Dark neoclassical.

FIsherman's death. Folky death metal though so not sure if that is your thing.

the fittingly-named Pelagos are a band I really like. It's some light, dreamy prog metal-ish rock (nothing to headbang to) with a melancholic touch:
This rec made me check their bandcamp page, and I see they've released an album last year. I only know the previous one; good stuff taht really manages to give you that marine feel that band is about.

Maybe a way to find things of interest in this specific field:

Forgot Velvet Cacoon earlier. Sounds like being caught in a storm out at sea.

Seven Spires has an album about those kinds of themes, forget the name but you'll find it. Kind of symphonic power metal or something.
