Quebec might be the place to look, great black metal up here.

Any interesting bands which combine Raw Black and Punk like Vermapyre from Belgium? Thank you.

What are some black metal bands with a similar sound to the recent Blut Aus Nord record? Something that's incredibly eerie and unsettling like this song with a looming, colossal guitar tone that creates an atmosphere of pure dread.

Maybe try Decoherence? They're like BAN meets Darkspace. That specific BAN style of growing big weirdo melodies out of the churning is pretty one of a kind though.

I know Depressive Black Metal isn't talked about much anymore, but could someone maybe give a band or a few bands that sound like this?

I love the guitar tone this band has and honestly i'm looking for more that sounds like this. Would appreciate it !

Nyktalgia's debut immediately comes to mind. Also, Make a Change... Kill Yourself's S/T.

I know it's a difficult recommendation, but something in the vein of STRID? I know of Flail! Please no run of the mill dsbm. Thank you!

Also anything in the inspiration of WINDIR like Mörker, Cor Scorpii and Mistur is very welcome.

I know it probably doesn't exist, but can anyone recommend something similar to Windir both in style and quality?

Get Myrkgrav’s first LP for something closer in epicness and intensity, and the last album for something more stripped down and tamer with stronger folk influences.
Nothing sounds quite like Windir, though.

Did you catch that Mesmerism demo that Feral Heart released last year? I see a fair bit of Strid in it

Looking for bands similar to Nocternity. The one that comes to my mind is Evilfeast but it's more dark than mysterious. I have already listened to Paysage d'Hiver.

I disagree. They tick the boxes in theory, but I think the biggest difference comes from Valfar’s background as an accordionist that’s lacking in all of these bands. The real folk influences simply aren’t there, and one can feel something’s missing from the Windir formula they replicate.

Not that they are bad bands, but they don’t really hit the same spot for me.
Attende is a fucking sick track, tho.

Obviously it doesn't have the same magic but they are blatant, lesser copycats

I'm looking for fast, preferably military themed black metal with lots of blast beats and good riffs, without going too much into the bestial/war metal scene. The more underground the better, as I will probably know of popular bands. Some good references are;

Infernal War
Minenwerfer (first two albums)
Ad Hominem
Endstille (early albums)

Hails!

marduk - panzer division marduk, obviously. a blueprint for lots of this stuff.
truppensturm
dolchstoss (belgium)
iperyt maybe?
