I'm working on a story about a society of absolute decay, where basically every shred of human decency is a thing of the past.
Society is a free-for-all with no laws , and the only thing saving you from the worst of humanity's darkest, most primal impulses, is your ability to inflict merciless violence upon those who would try.

In this society, violence, and sexual abuse are common occurrences in everyday life, and it's not uncommon to see dead people lying in the streets, resulting from some random interpersonal conflict, or witnessing rapes happening a few meters into a back alley, or just beyond the walls of a building one walks past. No one is spared from the darkness and depravity of this society. No one.

I'm looking for a soundtrack to inspire scenarios and mental imagery. It could either come in the form of songs where the sound itself inspires such imagery, like in these examples:

Or it could have lyrics about events or scenarios that one could expect to be commonplace in such a society.
Such as in Necrotic Disgorgement's "Concieved for Incest."
Spoiler: show
Born into a life of filth where
Cum dictates your whole existence
Confinement crushes all resistance
Sodomized and inbred
Your life purpose predetermined
Forced to service cock since birth
A nut is all your life is worth
You were conceived for incest

Depravity seared in your brain
As uncle dad brings molestation
A servant to the degradation
You'll spend your life in servitude
Restrained and caged through infancy
Only freed to indulge their lust
But above all you were bred to fuck
You were conceived for incest

And impurity repulsive immortality
Bred for debauchery and agonizing sodomy
Raped upon creation a rag doll for blood relation
Trained into submission suckling since formation

Bestialized at birth and turned out to the fornication
Infantile whore gang fucked to oblivion
Cock replaces bottle as you consume ejaculation
Innocence defiled as you inherit penetration

Fetish for incest
When it comes to sex and compulsion
It's all relative
A household whore to fuck on command
You will live to serve
You were born to rape and defile
Ancestral seed preserved
Sodomized from the cradle to the grave

You were conceived for incest

It's preferred that it feels grounded in a place somewhere. Like you can imagine a house, or a streetwalk, or something where it's happening, and doesn't just communicate an idea in a vacuum like a lot of Death Metal tends to do.

So the above lyrics: good. Something like "Eaten" by Bloodbath. Not quite so much.
I know this is sort of a nebulous idea, but that's kinda the best way to describe it.

It's also set in an urban setting, so it's preferable if it's not about people being dragged out into the woods or something.

So yeah. Gimme that grime.

I don't really have much to contribute, but I had completely forgotten about Satan's Revenge on Mankind - I used to listen to them maybe like... 15 years ago or something?

Well... I'm not sure I know what you want. How about these?

Thanks for the recs.
I know it's a bit unclear what I want, the thought was in part to hear what other people might associate with it, and see if maybe a new perspective could be gained from that. Perhaps an angle I hadn't considered.

I suppose if I were to further elaborate on what makes the examples I posted work in their sound;

- SRoM gives me the vibe on account of its slow tempo and very filthy production. Like it just feels "unwashed" and unclean in its sound, to a greater extent than something like Black Metal does.
Maybe it's the thickness of the mix, and the buzziness of the guitar tone, giving the feeling of the guitar itself being physically grimy.

- With Godflesh, part of it is the kind of desperate tone of it.
To me, Streetcleaner has always conjured up images of a tragic event of mass violence taking place.
Like a mass shooting, or an authoritarian regime gunning down protestors. No doubt the title primes me a bit for it, but I think the sound underscores it.

I'm not sure know how to explain it in more technical terms, it's just a vibe thing.
I think maybe the shrill, dissonant nature of the guitars sound a bit like screams, or maybe alarm sirens.
I think maybe the monotonous nature of it is a factor too. Like it's not much that changes. It's just ongoing violence.

Would it be these guys?

If so, fits very well indeed. Damn grimy.
Thanks for the rec.

It's getting there, but it's missing that sense of violence and/or despair.

Resection of Upper Gastrointestinal Malignancy was super ugly and bestial, damn.
It seems you linked the wrong track on the second one, but I looked up Lymphatic Phlegm, and yeah, that was really filthy too.
God Macabre was more straight Death Metal, so not quite the vibe I was looking for, but the first two will definitely be of inspiration. Thanks heaps.

I'm not quite certain what to make of this, but it was sinister for sure. Thanks!

Yes, that's the Wisconsin Thug. You got it.

https://www.discogs.com/artist/265215-T ... r=Releases

someone did a discography, minus one song they don't have:

I wish the guy behind Bovine Records, who is also the singer in Thug, would put up a discography on Bandcamp or something somewhere.

More of a hardcore thing, but maybe City Hunter fits the description?
