Hello folks,

I've been looking for something very atmospheric space sounding metal with plenty of energy with some synth that sounds magical. Something that sounds beautiful and makes you feel in outer space... preferable NO BLACK METAL... either heavy, power, prog, hard rock, speed... something fast paced... something 80's sounding. I don't mind whether it's old-school or something released yesterday. Any time period works for me.

Much appreciated

I suggest you check out all of the albums by Star One (especially Space Metal).

Then, there is The Cosmic Kitten Project where there is a story behind the EP they released that talks about the journey of a space cat. Pretty solid instrumental prog metal tbh. I like their music! The bandcamp download comes with a PDF with the story.

Scorched Moon also comes to my mind and Obsidia is an amazing album!

This is very good metal! It reminds me of Brocas Helm! Though I don't see there being any space ambience, I think it sounds very good!

I would also like to suggest to the OP The only EP released by Errikos Bloukos, an artist who was recently added on the website. Good Prog/Groove Metal from Greece!

This is more rock, and maybe not what you're looking for but it's based on The Hyperion Cantos and is pretty "spacey".

Sacred Blade / Othyrworld

Othyrworld's album consists of re-recordings, but the updated production might work better for you.

Does Hawkwind sound too obvious?

And you even have a dedicated tag on BC to spend some time on...: https://bandcamp.com/tag/hawkwind

Other than this classic combo, I recommend Star One/ Space Metal.
