When youve been listening to it for over ten years like me, as much as i love the stuff when its well executed by different artists ive had several times where i just cant get into any more new bands because they play it so badly or im picky as hell. Its really not easy finding new bands that are worth your attention, i rely more on word of mouth, for example i will message certain sellers on discogs asking if they know any other bands. And one or two have gave me a list of a massive load of bands that id never heard of, but its finding the time to listen to them all and also keeping a memory of what everything sounds like. One guy once gave me a list of 200 bands and i thought how do you remember what all those bands sound like?

Getting into black metal is a journey in itself, if I were to recommend good starting points I would look into Ulver's first three albums: Bergtatt, Kveldssangr, and Nattens Madrigal. I would dive into some of the Cascadian Black Metal too: Wolves in the Throne Room, Agalloch, and Ash Borer. Some other good starting bands would be Borknagar, Enslaved, and Immortal. Hope this helps and let me know if you want more recommendations.

Bergtatt is a good choice, I personally recommend some easy listening Black Metal, besides the obvious ones I recomend Ancient, specially The Halls of Eternity and Proxima Centauri, some of my friends that are not into BM like this band.

And then I will look some mixtures beetween the music you like, ie: if you like death search for some blackened Death Like Dawn https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Dawn/Nær_sólen_gar_niþer_for_evogher/6105

If you like grindcore look for Anaal Nathrakh - In the Constellation of the Black Widow
