I have been into the Skull and Blackfinger lately. I really love the sound Eric Wagner has. Black Sabbath and Ozzy are the template.

Do you guys know any bands that have that heavy sound and vocals like Skull, Sabbath, Trouble?

I am totally Bumming. Weedeater will be in town and The Skull is on their tour but they are not on the leg in my area.

Thanks All.
Bubba

Vocally, Orchid singer is an Ozzy clone. Count Raven's as well.
The singer of Trouble always makes me think of Axl Roses, but that's just me!

There's a lot of crappy imitators here. I would recommend the following albums:

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats - Blood Lust
Electric Wizard - Witchcult Today
Sleep - Holy Mountain

Each of these bands seem to be taking something Sabbath did to its logical conclusion with a fairly original take or spin.

Ya'll are freakin AWESOME. I luv Sheavy and Orchid... still checking out some of the others. Thanks to all. Great recommendations!!

My shorts are still burnt that the Skull is skipping my region. The one club that Weedeater is at is right around the corner. I really wanna catch the Skull.

Thanks all.

have you tried epic doom, like Candlemass? Pentagram? Reverend Bizarre? Blood Farmers? Cathedral?

Place of Skulls, Solitude Aeturnus, Earthride and Pale Divine are all classic American acts that occupy the same sorta 'traditional Doom' territory as Trouble/The Skull.

I'd suggest Lord Vicar from Finland and Pagan Altar from the UK as well.
