Wondering about bands with bodhrans in. A lot of folk metal or more folk-influenced bands seem to have them but they're often indistinguishable from whatever the 'main' drum kit is doing and may as well just be there for the looks (earning them Celtic folk points, eh?). Looking for something where the bodhran is audible, or perhaps even occasionally the sole percussion instrument?

Primordial had them on at least their first two albums which I also remember as being a bit folkier overall than the later stuff. Can't really remember how audible they are, though, it's been ages since I listened to them.

I’m not sure I’ve heard their first two albums, come to think of it. I’ll check those out, even if they don’t have much bodhran, they’re always a good listen.

Verdict Denied use a greek kind of drum, very similar to the bodhran, on this song:
