I’m interested in hearing some bands that use baritone guitars instead of detuning or using 7/8 strings. There are literally none that I know of. The only thing I can think of that used one is Scott Walker’s The Drift. So does anyone know of any killer metal bands that use it? Black, death and doom bands preferred but I’ll try anything.

Virus use them on their The Agent that Shapes the Desert album... Great record but not 100% metal :(

I've searched a bit and found that Pat O Brien of Cannibal Corpse fame commonly uses long scale baritone guitars for the songs in A# tuning, i didn't expect that :D

^ Wow, excellent work, that’s actually pretty interesting.

This Virus band is incredible. They’re like a mix of blackened elements, Voivod, and King Crimson rolled into one. Incredible. Thanks a lot for the heads up.
