Hey everyone, I’m in a cheesy mood. Are there any other blackened ballads like They Rode On by Watain? Preferably with clean vocals and a big solo.

I’ll also settle for stuff like Opeth’s Burden, or any non-love song ballad really.

I was always calling "black metal ballad" the likes of: Nargaroth "Amarok - Zorn des Lammes III", Horna "Juuret", Blood Red Fog "The Abyss", Sarkrista "The Sea Pt. 2 (My Cold Grave)".

Varathron - Remnants of the Dark Testament. No clean vocals, but one of the very few songs I know of that can be called an actual black metal ballad, or at least comes very close.

Spoiler: show

Are Bathory's "Hammerheart" and "Twilight of the gods" too obvious?

that Watain song rips off like a dozen Tiamat songs, down to the solo... Phantasma Deluxe was the blueprint, but you'll find more. half the Amanethes album you'll love :)
