The recent (and excellent) releases by Aeternam, Arstidir lifsins and Vengeful Spectre got me thinking about other bands influenced by mythology and/or a particular culture and folklore.
I think that when done right, it can be a great marriage that ends up elevating and distinguishing a band. It can also be corny, childish and ridiculous, though.

So, what bands do it tastefully?
I am aware of the obvious staples, as well as some more obscure acts, such as Coffin Texts, Crescent, Maat, Shaarimoth among others.
Before you all scream Ex Deo, I find them boring and uninteresting. Also, no cheesy stuff please. That means no power metal. Brownie points if it's on the more extreme side of the metal spectrum.

Good heavy metal band with greek lyrics. the Band's name in Latin characters is Exoristoi and they are not power metal. Song's name is iron horseriders.

Finnish death metal band Khert-Neter loved to sing about ancient Egypt.

French Brutal Death Metal band Kronos:
