So, lately I've been really enjoying Mortiis' album "The Smell Of Rain". Can you folks recommend me some similar stuff? :)

That's a hard one. This is one of the very few actually industrial gothic rock albums I've ever heard. And the worst thing is that it's about the only Mortiis album on the genre, so even searching for bands similar to Mortiis won't help, because you're going to either be recommended black metal, ambient or generic gothic rock =/

Ppl too concentrated on vocals would compare it to Marylin Manson, but if you consider instrumental only, I think the closest I've ever listened to was early Psydoll.
I don't think there's any album close to what he did here both vocal-wise and instrumental-wise though...

Thanks, I'll check out Psydoll and see if I like it. ;)

this is an amazing and unique album. and I mean unique in a good and bad way, because I can't really think of anything that comes close to it. the closest I could think of would be von sirius - the mystical doktryn of spiritual accomplishment. check it out, it's up on youtube. not sure if it meets your request though.

This is great! it reminds me a bit of Mortiis in spirit, but it feels darker and i love those acid synths that pop up at times, kinda like early Mysticum

This is not really that hard. But for people who are only into Metal it probably is. This is basically a record that's more on the electronic Goth side of music.

Checkout the following Bands:

Gothminister (just checkout the Album "Happiness in Darkness" - you can hear clearly the similarity to The smell of Rain)
Project Pitchfork
My Life with the thrill kill cult
Chrom
In Strict Confidence
Absurd Minds
Apoptygma Berzerk
Rotersand
VNV Nation
Seabound
And One
Assemblage23
Diorama
Solar Fake
Terminal Choice
Frozen Plasma
Aesthetic Perfection
DE/Vision
Nitzer Ebb
3Teeth

etc

Thanks a lot for those! I already know (and enjoy) Gothminister, Rotersand and Aesthetic Perfection, and I also know Apoptygma Berzerk, VNV Nation, And One, Assemblage23 and Nitzer Ebb. Will check out the rest! ;)
