So during my journey in power metal, I have been hearing some word about a genre titled "flower metal". It's pretty much a happier, poppier, and and synth-heavy version of power metal. Now I can understand people not liking this genre, but I've been getting into Rhapsody of Fire lately, particularly with their second album "Symphony of Enchanted Lands", and it's actually pretty great. Are there any other flower metal bands/albums that are good? Sorry if this sounds a bit broad, but I think it would be interesting to hear some genuinely good flower metal.

Is RoF "flower metal" though? If you want really sugary, poppy power metal you got to listen to Conquest

No matter if you like power metal or not, you just got to love Dragonland's Under the Grey Banner. If nothing else for the sheer ambitiousness. A fantastic album!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OEhuweo7FI

Twilight Force is also up there in terms of extreme power metalness.

Agree on Dragonland, Marius Danielsen's Legend of walley doom pt I, II and III is excellent triplet

Does early Sonata Arctica fall under the 'flower metal' category? Their first 3 albums are top notch.

^that's one interestingly broad definition of "Euro power" you've got there O.o
The OP asked for flower metal specifically, though...

Maybe there's a few where I'm fudging it a bit, but hey, I'm the Flower Metal King around these parts. I cannot be questioned!

Thomen-era Blind Guardian, Running Wild, Crescent Shield as "flower metal" is very, very wrong and I take offense! :P Hell, I take offense for Gamma Ray too even though they have some flowery shit and Future World might just be the first blueprint for that kind of stuff. In any case, I'd say Stratovarius from Visions onwards would fit the description, of flower metal: you know, polished to the extreme, "beautiful", uplifting, positive melodies and a general vibe that makes the whole thing approachable to people outside metal. I think Rhapsody - Legendary Tales is better than the second and it's the number one album I think of when I think "flower metal"... That's my definition at least.

Crescent Shield has no business in euro-power either...

To my mind, though, quite a few bands on your list are either hard-to-define like Imperia or borderline pop rock like Beyond the Black...

Not just Thomen-era, though.

So many iffy bands there. In particular, Within Temptation has pretty much nothing to do with power metal. Star One is more of a progressive metal band. Epica has too many extreme metal elements to be flowery enough. Beautiful Sin, Unleash the Archers and Triosphere aren't happy enough. Nocturnal Rites is too heavy. I'm picking on these bands because I quite like them, but I don't think they fit the template of what the OP is looking for. Stuff like Helloween, Gamma Ray, Edguy and such doesn't quite fit either, unless you just inherently think all power metal is flowery (which I'm almost suspecting you do). I think you need more major chords, sing-alongs, fauxchestration, and lighter guitar tone.

Some of their stuff might work on occasion, but for the most part I think it's a bit too melancholy.

Pathfinder is the epitome of flower metal. If Rhapsody and Dragonforce had a baby, it'd be Pathfinder. Check out Fifth Element and Beyond the Space, Beyond the Time.

I could never get into Fairyland. Feels way too underwhelming for what it wants to be.

Wars in Osyhria is the only album of theirs I am big on, but I think it is hands down the best album out of all the "flower metal" releases I have heard. Very tastefully done and not too high-pitched or wanky.
