Aaaaaaaah!!!! Summertime!!! It is finally here and you know, I have quite the high energy for it and want to enjoy as much as we can with restrictions and all.

While on the subject, I'm looking for metal with that SUMMERY kick. High energy, fast music, fun beach-like atmosphere and a bit danceable. It really doesn't matter the genre but preferably in the vain of traditional heavy/power/speed/fast stuff

No slow shit like black metal (speed/black... maybe), doom and other boring stuff. I can wait on that during the winter season because not really in the mood for them, at the moment.

So, let's go!!!!

OBTEST tick most of your boxes, man. Have fun with them, great Lithuanian band! Maybe listen to their latest opus first and their debut last as it is a tad farther from what you're looking for.

For me, summer is mostly synonymous with thrash metal/crossover as far as metal goes.

You got the well-known stuff by Exodus, Vio-Lence, Anthrax, Forbidden, Overkill, Death Angel, Nuclear Assault, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament, Fastkill, Terror Squad etc. which I usually play a lot during summer.

But the albums I've been playing on repeat non-stop out in the sun so far this year is some new crossover thrash/hardcore like:

Enforced - At the Walls
Mindforce - Excalibur
Red Death - Formidable Darkness
Primal Rite - Dirge of Escapism
Dead Heat - World at War
Drain - California Cursed
High Command - Beyond the Wall of Desolation
Ninth Realm - Gates of Tythorin
Ninth Realm - All Hail Treachery

Other albums I play a lot during summer is Sigh's psychedelic masterpiece "Imaginary Sonicscape" and their weird heavy/power metal masterpiece "Gallows Gallery". I always felt like both albums are very summer-esque.

Summertime = thrash and death metal for me. Here's what I'd recommend:

Vader - Xeper: a stellar piece of death metal with an awesome bass presence and some infectious rhythm work. Downright stupidly catchy riffs.

Venom - Black Metal: you know why I'm listing this. Listen to the damn record.

Cannibal Corpse's first four albums (or all of them, actually). Something about their OSDM sounding era is well fitted for summer time.

Vomitory - Redemption: another sick OSDM release. Killer riffs and some really catchy tracks here, too.

Blood Incantation - Hidden History...: another one which hits the nail squarely on the head when it comes to the old OSDM sound, with amazing production, organic drums and again, insane riffage that (for me) walks the line between being satisfactorily technical and TOO technical.

Havok - Burn: I listened to this one once a long time ago and remember it being pretty damn good. Not all the thrash revival groups are worth hearing, but these guys aren't one of those.

Dyscarnate - With All Their Might or ...And So It Came To Pass: I'll never get tired of how these dudes blend Behemoth-y blackened death with a groove element that Behemoth-type bands don't really use.

Almost forgot this one,

Municipal Waste - The Art Of Partying: this is the record to turn to when you want to mosh and throw a party. Pretty good stuff so far as humorous cross over thrash goes.

Oh man I forgot about Obtest, good rec! My summer jams usually consist of Enforcer, Dream Troll, Night Flight Orchestra, High Spirits, Visigoth, Twisted Tower Dire, and Eternal Champion.
